Test Studio should include a warning state for tests which don't outright fail, but have some less critical issue. The previous "backup locator" strategy would be a perfect example of this: if the step was able to move forward with using the backup strategy then the test should show a warning when it completes.

This warning should be clearly reflected by a yellow or similar color state instead of green or red. This should show on the specific test step, and for the overall test status.

This would need to reflect on individual test runs via the explorer, and also in test lists, results, and reports.

Furthermore, there should be an option at the project level to treat warnings as errors.
