I have an asp.net core web app that works fine running from VS 2019 and IIS Express. However, if I run it under a docker windows container, there's an error when deserializing the xml .trxd file.
Exception thrown: 'System.TypeInitializationException' in Telerik.Reporting.dll Exception thrown: 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException' in System.Private.CoreLib.dll Exception thrown: 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException' in System.Private.CoreLib.dll Exception thrown: 'System.MissingMethodException' in Telerik.Reporting.dll
This is only happening when running in a windows docker container.
Please do some testing with this configuration.
New development is being done with net core 3.1 and netstandard 2.1 and we can no longer create reports in the Report Designer using the ObjectDataSource.
Seems like it's time to update the standalone Report Designer for these new standards.
Please add support for Data Matrix barcodes. As of Q3 2014 this is the only format we will still need to rely on another library to create an image that is placed in a picture box. We would much rather be able to use the Barcode control for all our barcode requirements.
We create many legal forms, which use nested ordered lists. In htmlTextBox for reporting, we'd like to apply styles like upper-alpha, lower-alpha, etc to the ol tag. Currently, the only numbering for an ol is 1, 2, 3. CSS ability to set the style at depth (like ol ol) would be best. <ol> <li>1. text</li> <li>2. text <ol> <li>a. text <ol> <li>i. text</li> <li>ii. text</li> </ol> </li> <li>b. text</li> </ol> </li> </ol>
It would be very helpful for us people that have been using Telerik Reporting in Silverlight (or WPF) applications to have access to a Report Viewer for Windows Store Apps (XAML). The future of Silverlight is unclear at least and there are many Line Of Business Applications currently running under Silverlight and I know of many developers that are looking to port their LOB apps to Windows Store Apps (or Universal Apps). The current HTML5 Report Viewer does not provide printing when it is implemented in browser window in Windows Store Apps so we cannot really offer this option to our customers.
It would be good if the table headers can be frozen. This can be really useful in case of a big report which is displayed on a single page.
Feature Request - Show email sent / error notification using the report viewers built-in notification system.
It would be nice to have an option to have a message shown when the email with the report is sent or if there was an error sending.
Right now when you hit email and send the user does not know if it was successful or not. Being async is nice but I have noticed that it could take a few seconds to complete and if the user navigates away from the report viewer during this time the report has the possibility of not sending. Either way right now the user has no definitive method of knowing if the email was sent or not.
Currently the Web Report Designer (WRD) can only work with reports stored on the server where the WRD Web API service is hosted.
A nice addition would be the option to select a local TRDX/TRDP file from the client file system and upload it to the server, when opening a new report for edit.
When saving such report there should be an option to download it to the client's file system as well.
With this approach the open/save operations will more closely resemble those of the standalone report designer.
The problem is not getting the error via Dot Net programming, but the complete layout destruction of the report as a result of the fact that a picture (in our case a thumbnail of a provider) is unavailable. Catching the report error is not an option. It is too complicated and even if we succeed in obtaining the error, it will be very complicated to remove the unavailable url on the fly and re-render the report again. This seems to be a "known issue" for about 8 years! My question: Is it possible to keep the remaining report "intact" if such an error occurs? This shouldn't be too difficult for the development team..
It would be nice to control the report loading animation during a report viewer refresh. We are refreshing a report every x seconds and it appears to be flickering during a refresh.
If a table-based item (Table, List, Crosstab) does not fit in a single page and needs to occupy more than one page, its bottom border is not drawn on the first page and its top border is not drawn on the second (subsequent) page. This behavior is by design and its purpose is to help the users visually distinguish the table as a single item. The table has only one top and bottom border and they are displayed at the beginning and at the end of the table, regardless how many pages the table actually occupies.
Since users might find this confusing, a table should have a property controlling this behavior. The default state of the property will preserve the current rendering. If the user explicitly sets the property, then the table will draw its top and bottom borders on every page it occupies.
As in Ticket with ID 1440072 requested we are looking for a funktionallity to send Reports via E-Mails with the WPF ReportViewer. As only the HTML-5 ReportViewer currently supports the E-Mail sending we would request the feature for WPF as well.
When a date is set as a report parameter in the HTML5 viewer, it formats the parameter as a JSON date using a timezone. Where no time is specified this results in a time part added to the date when received at the server. This is a problem, especially for browser in a negative offset zone, e.g. US, where upon the date goes to the previous day. Please add support for parameter types of date, where no time is present and no conversion is done anywhere.
in our solution, we store the trdx reports designed with Standalone Designer as xml strings in our database,
and render them to pdf in the background services by using Telerik.Reporting.XmlSerialization.ReportXmlSerializer.Deserialize
the new web based designer would be a good addon to integrate report design directly into the appliciation.
but the current preview version of webreportdesigner needs to be configured with a FileStorage.
it is possible to override the GetReport and SaveReport functions in a custom ReportDesignerController and load the report from a string (db in our case),
but since the ReportJsonSerializer is an iternal class, it is not possible to create a json response and send it to the webeditor.
so it would be helpfull, either to make the ReportJsonSerializer a public class so it can be used to convert the report manally to json, or extend the
whole thing to load the reports from strings directly.
