Add progress bar that indicates when the report would be fully rendered.
We display data inside an HtmlTextBox that was entered using the RadEditor. It would be great if the Reporting HtmlTextBox could be brought much closer or even in line with tag support as the editor. We are frequently running into issues with uncommon tags (that we strip out for the HtmlTextBox) and also with spacing being different. We work around the issues we have, but continuing increased tag support or auto stripping of unsupported tags would be very appreciated.
Do you have an updated road-map or plan to support Web assembly (WASM), especially Blazor? You already published Blazor articles in your blogs.
It will be a good idea to add a new report viewer based on Blazor, protecting the parameters between the viewer and its API controller.
Also, will be a very good idea to start your online report designer (like alternative products), based on web assembly
One of the main features the clients require when exporting the reports to XLS or XLSX is to have the page width already set to 1 page. But for none of these exporting options, this is possible, unless you intercept somehow the export functionality prior to rendering the document to the client
I reported this behavior earlier in a support ticket over two years ago but since it has not been addressed, I would try this approach. If an AreaSeries has the LineType set to LineTypes.Smooth, the graph series may become misleading or incorrect. Consider the attached screenshot (withoutsettings.png) showing a simple 10 point chart. Looking at the chart, you would assume that between 11:06 and 11:07, the response time was below 0. However the test values indicate that the values never were below 0. This makes the chart misleading and incorrect. It then makes the chart unreliable to the end user, thus unusable. The quick workaround is to set the LineType=straight but since you support a smooth linetype, it should be correct. Another, more serious, instance in the chart where (using smooth LineType) is where the series line will cross the x axis point (a timeline chart) more than 1 time which is actually a timeline chart violation. Please consider adding an RTF Text Box control to your report toolbar. Crystal reports has this ability which we've used on many of our reports. Currently the only work around for changing the RTF data to something that Telerik Reports will print cleanly, is to create a user defined custom function.
I have a requirement for my report book to feature a title page and *THEN* a table of contents for the report book, followed by the report book's content. Currently, the TOC for a report book can only go at the beginning or the end of the book. My requirement required the ability to specify the TOC position more generally. Here are two possible approaches: 1. Implement the requirement as it is stated by allowing the report book's TOC to be positioned after such and such a report - the nth, or some other means of identification. 2. Honour the TOC for a report book that is nested inside another. I created a 'sub book' with the TOC as its first page and then added this an outer book. Unfortunately, the inner book's TOC was not honoured and the report was skipped. To my mind, the second suggestion above feels easier to implement (but I am guessing, of course). It certainly would allow just about any combination.
When printing large runs of multi page documents (production work orders where each job is 5 pages and we are printing 100 jobs), to support stapling options on the printers. All office products support this and PDF programs.
Our clients enter information using the radeditor and in many cases want to embedded tables and graphics into their text. Using your reporting tool there is no way to print this information. I know you have suggested using your table and image tools, but that doesn't work when you are dealing with freely formatted text so the existance and location of the tables and images cannot be predicted.
Hi Team, While exporting the report displayed in the web report viewer to CSV, we are exporting the textbox name as header value. Which leads to a problem while exporting a dynamic value whose control name is decided at run time. Please provide an option to assign and export value assigned at runtime. After setting the Margins under the Page Settings, the Width should be automatically set. The Width should be the Paper Width with the Left and Right Margins subtracted. What happens when this 'formula' is not used, which one takes precedence? It would also be nice to display the Height as a read only property.
It would be very helpful for us people that have been using Telerik Reporting in Silverlight (or WPF) applications to have access to a Report Viewer for Windows Store Apps (XAML). The future of Silverlight is unclear at least and there are many Line Of Business Applications currently running under Silverlight and I know of many developers that are looking to port their LOB apps to Windows Store Apps (or Universal Apps). The current HTML5 Report Viewer does not provide printing when it is implemented in browser window in Windows Store Apps so we cannot really offer this option to our customers.
As the world of data visualization changes and the demands for features to the end-users allowing them to use visualisation methods such as dashboards and pivots allowing them to slice and dice runtime. Are there anything in the telerik roadmap which allows for this kind of product component? I see that competitors such as ComponentOne has Active analytics and Devexpress has dashboraddesigner and dashboardviwer as components in their toolbox. If anyone else are seeking the same oppertunity in the Telerik toolbox please feel free to comment. I am not really convinced this belongs in the reporting tool but as this was suggested by the team - so be it. What I am looking for is an end-user friendly way of visualising data without being knowledgeable of how to connect to databases and how to look for the right tables, but simply choosing pre populated "datasets" for presenting as - Charts - Gauges - Pivot tables - slice & dice - compare data based on easy selection of - date ranges - geografical presence So basically a dashboard designer allowing end user to Do Your Own. I like how with Kendo UI for MVC you have the option of placing the references dlls into lib/kendouimvc, so projects are not dependent on having the correct version installed (or having the telerik control panel installed on a build server), and when updates occur it will copy over everything and make sure you don't miss something. It would be nice to have an option in the upgrade wizard extension thingy to have a section for including telerik reporting and it will put the necessary dlls in your project the same way. I can easily manually copy the files over, so this is just a pet peave thing, but it would be nice...
When trying to duplex print a report that has odd page numbers, the next report's first page prints on the back of the previous report. We need the ability to conditionally insert a page break based on whether the report's (the group's) page count is odd or even. Since we don't have access to the global pagecount variable outside the footer, there is no way to use it to insert a page break into the body of the report. This seems like it would be such a common need with the desire by many to save paper that it would be an obvious feature to include in the product. Thanks.
We'd like to distribute the standalone report tool to our clients and provide data through a web service. We don't want to have to redistribute a dll everytime we make new data available. The standalone report tool should be able to query our webservice for what data is available and then allow the client user to create reports from it. i.e. obtain list of table names dynamically as well as their column names and data. A possible solution is to allow the tool to view and interact with classes in an external assembly that are dynamically generated with Reflection.Emit.
With reference to support ticket 992325 where the behaviour of making minute changes to the measurements of grid columns occurs inadvertently I would like to suggest that this is changed and does not happen, i.e. improve the handling of floating point numbers in the serialization/deserialization process. It causes noise in the source control history of the file. Note that this behaviour is not apparent with comparable reporting solutions, e.g. SSRS/RDLC files.
