I have encountered this problem numerous times but I will list one of them. When printing a weekly schedule in the format of a calendar, the days of the week print top to bottom when the desired layout should be L to R. We have resorted to various hacks to get this to work, but this is another feature of ***(which we are converting from) that is not supported in Telerik Reporting. It would be nice if there was an OPTION to flow L to R as opposed to Top to Bottom.
Currently report parameter types are limited. We would like to pass a data table as a parameter . Tried formatting to table string outside and using HTMLTextbox, but it does not parse <table > tags.
The problem: I have a table that has several million records. I have a report with parameters to query those records. Example on a sales report: Customer (All or specific customer) and Product (All or specific product) and date range. If by mistake the user selects all customers, all products, and a date range of 10 years, he may get millions of records for the report. After several seconds he realizes that he entered the wrong parameters and wants to cancel the report. There is no way to cancel. The solution was to run this in another thread and kill the process. That seems like a hack and doesn’t stop the web request so the web service keeps working even after the report has been killed.
Change request: Allow canceling in two ways:
The web data source should implement the “Cancellation Token” and cancel the web request when the report is canceled. Postman, browsers, and other tools use this technique so that the web service understands that the data is no longer needed and it can stop the request.
Some links explaining how to implement Cancellation Tokens:
freeze certain columns in a table when we scroll right and left in Telerik Report and the same should be applicable when we do export to excel
The ability to add these types of images to reports would be incredible. We deal with numerous companies in the manufacturing sector. These customers have drawings that they would like to print along with their reports (think of a production order to build something, we show a list of the materials to use and the drawing/cad would be required).
At runtime there is no way to easily access values from fields within the same row of a report using the WPF ReportViewer. We have a requirement for our application where users may double-click a field and trigger the applicable editor to appear for quick access. To enable this functionality, we need to retrieve values from within the same row as the field that was clicked. While the TextBlock that was clicked may be accessed, there is no way to easily determine which controls within the control hierarchy belong to the same row as all page content is lumped into one canvas. Searching for values by Name is not possible either as the name is not passed into the generated controls. It is also not possible to create custom IAction implementations to handle this functionality either as they are not supported.
Like the NeedDataSource, it will be nice if there was a PreRender event or similar. So that way I could programmatically adjust elements based on the report parameters. Example: a column selection parameter (dropdown) that would then in the 'PreRender' remove or hide the columns from a table if the column name isn't in that multivalue parameter.
Datasources of tables and expressions are processed even when the item is not visible. This can lead to performance problems. It should be possible to disable certain items to be processed. The most obvious way is that items are not processed, that are not visible anyway.
Hello When we are trying report big data like 10,000 rows are more, it takes awful lot of time to load the report even in the server with big configuration. Like SSRS, it should do page level load and have setting to enable and disable for each report. It will only load few pages and later should load other pages on demand instead of loading all pages. This would be big performance improvement for big data reports. Vijai Spectra Energy
Add a Property for all controls to be able to set whether the control appears on every page of the report. At present the entire Group Header/Footer may be set to appear on every page, but not just a single control. We required a Barcode and ID. No. to be displayed on every page of the report. It has been really complicated to utilise a series of Group Headers and Sub-Reports to achieve something that should have really easy. The layout of the Report could not be modified as it is set by Government. Telerik Reporting should facilitate turning the complex into the straight forward.
Currently there is no way to implement a table with html. It is pretty clear from the 1 ticket already open that this is not going to be done as it has been open for ~4 years at this point. Due to implementation challenge of the task, I suggest allowing for a HtmlTextBox to take the place of a TextBox in the table object. This will allow for better conditional formatting in a table, without having to implement the entire table function of Html.
I have a report with a column that repeats values and would like to suppress the repeats. In other report writers I have worked with (SSRS, Crystal, ...) it is a right click and you select suppress duplicate values from a checkbox. The result is that duplicates on the same page are hidden, and when a new page begins the first row will show the value and then it is hidden for subsequent rows. (See attachment) I am optimistic that this functionality exists and I am simply not looking in the right place.
Export options can be limited through the application configuration file, where the settings will be applied to all viewers and for all reports. For more info: Limit export options in ReportViewer to certain format only.
It would be nice to have specific export options per report without the need of building custom UI to handle the export.
YES, I'm aware you have a ReportViewer that works with your server reporting solution. but your reporting solution does not scale. Furthermore, we have TONS of SSRS reports we don't want to re-write. It would be way too expensive! Thanks for your consideration.
Diagram attached. When there are sub reports and KeepTogether would require a dataset to use multiple pages the report renderer fails to honor page breaks. Rather than use the new page it should be using to present the page, it bleeds onto the prior page which has a page break set. See Ticket #1144729 for all the relevant information regarding the version, setup etc. and attached examples. I was directed here to the feedback portal so your staff has led me to believe this is an existing issue with the current iterations of the report project.
