Several community members asked about a Report Viewer suitable for Vue.js applications. We will appreciate your feedback in this feature request. You can leave a comment with details about functionality requirements for a Vue.js Report Viewer e.g. initial setup, updates of the displayed report and ways of passing report parameters' values. Thank you.
When a report with a document map is reloaded due to parameter change, the currently selected position in document map tree is lost and the current page number is reset to 1. Preserving the page number does not make sense, because changing a parameter may change the rendered pages count, hence there is no guarantee that the same page number will correspond to the previously examined page.
However, the viewer can persist the currently selected items hierarchy in the document map tree and try to select the same nodes after the report is reloaded. This would be particularly useful in Report Book scenarios where the book will navigate to the same report once the parameters are changed.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open the Report Book demo.
2. Navigate to Dashboard report by clicking the third item in the Document Map pane.
3. Change a report parameter, i.e. select 2002 in the Year parameter editor.
4. The viewer reloads the report book and navigates to its first page, clearing the highlighted items in Document Map pane.
Loading huge DB schemas in bulk is time-consuming. Add lazy schema loader for the table column definitions in order to improve the user experience when using DB with a huge schema.
Please add support for signing PDFs with a certificate stored on a hardware token, for example on a Qualifies Signature Creation Devices (QSCD) as defined by the EU law known as EIDAS, using a native platform way (on Windows this might mean through the Certificate.msc store).
It would be really useful if EntityDataSouce was updated to support Entity Framework Core contexts. EF Core depends on Standard 2.0 so can run on .NET Core or the full framework.
In some cases, the data source might have dynamic columns meaning that the columns might change for different report runs. I need to be able to detect if a particular column is available using an expression so that I can handle its absence without showing an error to the end user.
Currently, the WebSeviceDataSource is making separate request whenever data is required, consider adding a caching mechanism to reduce the number of the web requests.
It would be very useful to have the option of changing Sort and Toggle Visibility icons for example to a vector image. Default png is not looking good when the report is scaled or in specific styles. Attached an example.
This function would allow you to lookup a value from another data source with a value that is in your current data source. It would return the first matching value for the specified name from a data source that contains name/value pairs. This would allow the porting of many SSRS reports over to Telerik Reporting. Example: I have a report which lists all sales staff in our firm, with other personal information. We have a multi-dimensional data source (Cube) where we have all the financial data stored and calculated. If I wanted to retrieve the total sales and total revenue that each member of the sales staff had, it would require me to use a sub-report to load the data (using a parameter to pass the staff member's unique ID). This causes the loading/generating of the report to take longer, as the query against the Cube has to happen for each member of the sales staff, because of the use of a sub-report. With this new LOOKUP() function, it would allow the data source to be loaded and the report would be able to lookup the sales and revenue values for each staff member ID.
Please provide an option to launch a sub report directly from within the main report designer (standalone version). Example, in Crystal reports, if there is a sub report within a report, a user can double click that sub report and it opens it as a new report tab. This is very convenient rather then having to chase down the path to the subreport and open it manually.
The Labels to be displayed on a Numerical Scale Axis are currently set automatically. The user can control the scale range via Axis Scale Minimum and Maximum properties. The user can control also the Label Step. However, the exact Axis Labels to be shown are calculated automatically and cannot be controlled directly by the user. For example the user cannot force the Axis Labels to start from the Minimum value.
request to add groups on the right side of a Table
add the possibility of show the parameters area on right/left/below of report viewer.
Right now, if I want a textbox to always take up space, even if visibility is set to false, I need to wrap it in a panel. I would love to be able to just check a boolean and have this done behind the scenes. Having everything wrapped in panels makes things a pain to rearrange and needlessly complex. Barring that, at the minimum, having a function to "wrap" a textbox with a panel would be nice so I don't have to create one, move the textbox, make the panel match the dimensions of the textbox, drop the textbox in, and then move the panel back where the textbox was.
Currently the images loaded in PictureBox item and Style's BackgroundImage property are rendered preserving the item's physical size. This causes scaling when the machine's DPI is different than the image DPI and affects the image quality. A specific option should allow the images to be rendered without being altered, including applying antialiasing on the target graphics object.
When using multiple Condition Formatting Rules, the only option is the AND. An OR option should also be available.
