With this customization it will be possible to use checkboxes or combo boxes and normalize the selection of data. Actually is possible to use only text and date columns.
I would like to use drag and drop on treeList to reorder rows (with same parent) like on treeView or at least to have same events (drag, dragstart, dragend, drop), where I'll be able to change behaviour.
Currently, the Spreadsheet component doesn't have the functionality to create a formula using the keyboard arrows.
For example:1. Open: https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/spreadsheet/index
Please provide keyboard shortcut & navigation to open a cell lookup list (menu) & for traversing menu items as shown below;
In Excel Alt+up or Alt+down arrow keys work for the same but in Kendo UI Jquery - spreadsheet , these keys are not working.
We would like the Kendo editor to provide more wysiwyg settings on headers in order to maintain accessibility standards for users. We need tables to default to data tables and not layout tables to meet accessibility checker standards.
When using the Kendo editor in Sitefinity, checking the "Associate cells with headers" box, nothing happens and I am not sure what steps need to be taken to associate them since that is the only setting in the table wizard that mentions headers. The only way to create headers is to go into the HTML and add them, this is not ideal for our users to have to do. This also creates an accessibility concern since all tables created default to layout tables versus data tables (in third-party accessibility checker), even when the table should be marked as a data table.
We need this MVC wysiwyg editor to fully function like it's webforms counterpart. As newer users to Sitefinity we were encouraged/directed to use MVC as the product was transitioning to this model from webforms. Unfortunately, not all of the tools transitioned to MVC retained all the functionality of their webform counterpart.
Does the kendo spreadsheet support conditional formatting / data bars (which are the background bar charts on a cell)...
See example below - and attached simple xlsx (in zip)
which in excel you add like
If not currently supported as standard, any suggested workarounds?
The filtering on the spreadsheet component is great!!
There is however one behaviour that causes confusion for end users, and that is filtering when merged cells are present in the selection.
An example is available in the following dojo:
Open the dojo and filter column A on a1 and you will only see only b1 in column B, but the b1a will not be shown.
To be clear - This is also how Excel behaves... (which is of course your prime aim so its not a bug as such)...
Interestingly google sheets stops you putting filter on merged cells / stops you merging on filtered column.
The Excel behavior is discussed in the following threads:
Is it possible to implement something, so the end user experience would be improved? Maybe when merged cells are present :
a) if they click filter, this is detect and user is warned of this behaviour
b) if they click filter, the sheet is changed into an unmerged version (which repeats data in merged cells) as in the excel examples above.
We have a client that recently brought to our attention the fact that he found a case where he couldn't place his cursor in a certain spot of a formula, click a cell, and have it fill that cell in. It works if you try to do that for the first cell listed in the formula, but not the rest. I've outlined a sample case below.
You can enter a formula in a cell like =IF(A2+B2, 1, -(A2+B2), 2). Then, highlight a cell, like A2 below, and delete it by hitting backspace or delete.
After hitting delete, leave the cursor in the same location of the formula and click a new cell, like A4.
For this case, since it's the first cell in the formula, it will insert the cell you just clicked on in the correct location. However, next try highlighting the next cell referenced, hitting delete, and clicking on a new cell to have it insert the cell into the formula. In this case, we highlighted and deleted B2, then tried to click on B4.
You'll see that, for this one, instead of inserting B4, it gives an error message. Our client said that it significantly slows him down when he has to manually type in each change to the formula, so is there any way we could have it insert the cell you click on for all cases? It doesn't look like this is a current feature, so would you be able to add it, please? Thank you!
We recently raised a ticket: 1424874.
We would like to request this ability to be added as a feature.
An error is thrown in the browser's console when pasting text + image from Word into the Kendo UI Editor: "Not allowed to load local resource: file:///C:/Users/..."
This is due to the inability of the browser to access the image file, located on the client machine.
The explanation of the above is the following. If you test the following sample (note, that it does not use Kendo) in Chrome, and try to paste text + image in the contenteditable <div>, you will observe the same error. The Editor also renders its content in an editable div element. The browser does not recognize that the user attempts to paste an image. Instead of reading the image data and loading it as a base64 string to the src attribute of the <img> element it generates an <img> tag which points to the clipboard location of the file on the client machine. As the browser is not allowed to access such resource, it trows the error observed and the image is not rendered.
To resolve this issue, when pasting only an image (no text), the Editor has its own internal implementation. Therefore, the user is able to paste images (e.g. clicking on the image in Word->Ctrl +C->then Ctrl + V in the Editor). However, when pasting it together with text, the widget does recognize the text and does not apply the custom processing aimed to convert the image. Therefore the native browser behavior of pasting images is exhibited.
Currently events >24h are automatically shown in the all day area. This is confusing if the event starts or ends somewhere during the day. E.g. it starts at 5 p.m. on tuesday and ends on 11 a.m. on thursday. Noone knows when the resource is really available if the event is shown as all day from tuesday to thursday. There should be an option to turn that behaviour off and show such events as regular events. Maybe the only thing needing change is this line in _renderEvents: var isMultiDayEvent = event.isAllDay || event.end.getTime() - event.start.getTime() >= MS_PER_DAY;
