It would be nice to have more control over the item templates. ie, be allowed to more easily do stuff like:

  • Make the item non-selectable, or only selectable by a child element.
  • Make the item drag-and-droppable only via a grip element.
  • Make the item template display as a block, not inline.

The controller is returning the HtmlEncoded contents of a text file that the server reads in from the local operating system on the server, and I would like to display that information in a window or editor such that there is a left hand 'gutter' displaying line numbers and the file content has vertical and horizontal scroll bars.  The line numbers would scroll-y with the content, but should be fixed with respect to scroll-x.

A good example would be

 - the code panel in the Sources tab in Chrome developer tools, or
 - http://jspro.brothercake.com/code-examples/principle5.html, or
 - http://alan.blog-city.com/jquerylinedtextarea.htm (not my first choice though)

This dojo demonstrates a close solution I made using Window.

https://dojo.telerik.com/@RichardAD/IJuLeyOv

The 'gutter' is not locked (or fixed) though.  After many iterations I though of the Editor component and how it might already have line numbers built into it, and I could use it in a read-only manner to display the text file contents with line-numbers.

It would be nice to have custom attributes for rows and cells so that I can track things behind the scenes such as row identifiers that could be used to update a corresponding rows in a the data base. This id would not be editable by the user. There are many more uses I would like this for and that is just one example.

I would rather not have to create a column in the spreadsheet just for this and then hide it. I find that very clunky.

Thanks.

I would like to see a persist state feature like in the grid control applied to the pivot grid. A complex cube state is difficult for our users to set up each time the page is loaded. It would be great to save the current state of the pivotgrid and restore it on future visit.

We use the new version of SignalR which is 2.2.3 currently and it seems the Kendo DataSource cannot bind to it. It would be awesome if Kendo supported it.
Here is a link: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.AspNet.SignalR.Core/

At typical usecase for web applications is to let the user upload and image (portrait, avatar, picutre of real estate etc.) and then resize and crop it to a specific contrain.

An easy widget for handling the cropping and resizing might come handy for many.

There are solution for cropping and also resizing in jquery plugins already, however a successful and pretty combo of the two seems to lack a bit.

Hallo,

i have a grid with a lot of data for a better representation i show some related values with a template in the cell below each other.
This solution is not optimal because I don't have the filter and sort function in the column header for every single field.
Enclosed an example https://www.igniteui.com/grid/multi-row-layout which illustrates my wish.
I would be happy if you implement this feature in a future release.

I add a custom header that shows only on the first page of the Kendo UI Grid export to PDF.

This leaves me with a margin on the rest of the pages that is too big.

It would be great to have configurable pdf options per page.

http://odata.github.io/WebApi/#04-26-InOperator

OData v4 now supports the IN operator as a short hand for multiple or queries (as of http://docs.oasis-open.org/odata/new-in-odata/v4.01/cn01/new-in-odata-v4.01-cn01.html#_Toc485385090 ). This could help to change code such as:

var selectedStations = $("#cmbStations").data("kendoMultiSelect").dataItems();
            var stationIds = [];
            for (var i = 0; i < selectedStations.length; i++) {
                stationIds.push({
                    field: "StationId",
                    operator: "eq",
                    value: stationId
                });
            }
            dataSource.filter({
                logic: "or",
                filters: stationIds
            });

into a much cleaner:

var selectedStations = $("#cmbStations").data("kendoMultiSelect").dataItems();
            var stationIds = [];
            for (var i = 0; i < selectedStations.length; i++) {
                stationIds.push(selectedStations[i].StationId);
            }
            dataSource.filter({
                field: "StationId",
                operator: "in",
                value: stationId
            });

Can we have a theme or feature of all input controls that can support floating labels like in google material design?

The current material design theme demos do not show example of floating labels.

Provide value binding for the ButtonGroup widget, so the selected button could be mapped to a value and the other way round. Binding should be similar to a RadioButton group or a DropDownList value binding.

In some scenarios it is required to validate if the edited event model property matches a certain condition. If this is not the case, the recurrenceEditor popup needs to be prevented from showing.

Currently the Scheduler does not provide a beforeEdit event that allows such behavior to be achieved.

Provide an option for the Kendo UI NumericTextBox to select its value on focus.

This would be a useful feature for data entry situations so you can start typing immediately.

We are aware of the proposed how to article but this is not a good solution for large applications.

Can we have something like "selectOnFocus: true". The code fix for this could be:

kendo.ui.NumericTextBox.fn._focusin = function(){
  var that = this;
  that._inputWrapper.addClass("k-state-focused");
  that._toggleText(false);
  that.element[0].focus();
// code to add to Kendo source
if(that.options.selectOnFocus){
  setTimeout(function(){
    that.element[0].select();
  });
 }
}

Kind Regards,
Manoj

I've bound the PivotGrid to a XMLA-WebService (with Mondrian as Backend).

In the Datasource I've defined the error-Function.

When PivotGrid requests Data and Mondrian runs an Exception, following XMLA is transferred:

As you can see, the Details are missing. This wouldn't be worse - but additional xhr is away (null) - so manually parsing the result is impossible.

It should be possible to use message details - or having access to the complete Response (but xhr is not present).

Hello,

We are using Spreadsheet widget in our system and have following questions to meet the demands of our customers:

  1. How can the filters be limited to valid choices by type of column? For example a numeric column does not need Filter By Condition options by date or by text containing values.
  2. On initial drop down of the filter the Filter by Value section opens, since most of our columns are numeric that isn't useful. How could we collapse the filter by value option on initial opening of the filter?

Currently we use spreadsheet filtering configuration according to this example:

            $("#spreadsheet").kendoSpreadsheet({
                sheets: [
                {
                    name: "OrdersLog",
                    mergedCells: [
                        "A1:G1",
                        "A2:F2"
                    ],
                    filter: {
                        ref: "A3:G49",
                        columns:[]
                    },

Can you please provide us with working examples of configuration (or required code adjustments) that will help us to meet the requrements above?

Currently, Editor's Formatting tool is that it works with block elements. But there are many scenarios where inline formatting is required and is very common. Hence, requesting to enhance the formatting option that works for both block and inline elements is a must-have for the Kendo UI Editor.

I'm wondering if it is possible to create a feature to partially format a cell value from the exported Excel?

For example, I have a string like "Payment Terms: Please pay the full amount..." I only want bold text on "Payment Terms:".
