In the popup edit grid, when the editable: false option is displayed, the portion of the value is at the top rather than horizontal. Can you change it horizontal?

Currently autocomplete searches after each character entered, which can have big impact for large result sets. When user type fast 3 chars there is no need to search 1,2,3 just 3. So it would be beneficial to allow setup some delay 200-300 milliseconds for search.

Hi Telerik Team,

Just wanted to point out that it would be nice if you could kindly put "-Bruce Lee" after the "Content is like water" quote.

Thank you

According to the documentation at:

http://docs.kendoui.com/kendo-ui/api/web/menu#configuration-dataSource

you can add the following information to a dataSource:

text
cssClass
url
encoded
content
imageUrl
spriteCssClass

However you cannot add an id to the menu item you are creating. This makes it very difficult to remove items by using:

menu.remove("#Item1");

The only way round this is to assign a unique class to each menu item and then remove them using:

menu.remove(".news");

If an id can be added that would be great. You have an example here:

http://docs.kendoui.com/kendo-ui/api/web/menu#methods-remove

Which is what we would like to do except the items will be created via a program and not static HTML.

Kendo UI is so customizable, which is why I'm transitioning away from DHTMLX, jQuery UI and jQuery Mobile. The Menu currently allows some control over click events, but I think, in keeping with Kendo's current customization options, full control over click and hover events would be a great thing to have.

I was able to mock this by commenting out 1 line of code, so to add as a configure option, this should be pretty easy to implement.

In the kendo ui menu, we need the ability to associated a number (or primary key) with the menu so that when it is clicked we can then use this id and make an async js callback or the like. At the moment the only thing we have available is the menu item text. What happens if the menu has two menu items with the same text? ie File -> Properties and Folder -> Properties?

There are occasions when the out-of-the-box filter operators can't be used, such as filtering on nested objects. In these situations I use a custom function for the filter operator.

It would be great if the Filter widget could support custom filter operators.

I realise this would be challenging, as it would break the save/load state function and would be difficult to handle in the expressionPreview.

Hi Team,

When a date filter is applied in the new Filter widget, the preview looks like: "Date Is After 'Tue Jan 01 2019 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Greenwich Mean Time)'" -- I'd like to be able to customize the displayed date format, something like adding "format:"{0:dd/MM/yyyy}" to the 'fields' object.

Thanks

A lot of app developers like the idea of adding a chat function to their app. In UI for WP Telerik has this beautiful Conversation View. Make the available as a full-blown widget für Kendo UI (mobile). Think of SignalR as a possible backend technology. Chat bubbles should have the ability to show text/pictures/emoticons. Provide a ready2use class for asynchronous or backgroud-sync (up/download) e.g. for ASP.NET Web API.

This feature was already requested in another post, but it was missunderstood. (http://kendoui-feedback.telerik.com/forums/127393-kendo-ui-feedback/suggestions/11578722-support-sorting-datasource-groups)

The idea is to allow for Groups in DataSources to be sorted in ways other than alphabetically; this will allow for certain groups to be given priority.

For example; similar to http://www.highcharts.com/stock/demo/arearange

Having area 'scatter' support, such as 'scatterArea', and 'scatterAreaRange', like the existing 'scatterLine', is also desirable.

Currently, you cannot disable all columns in the column menu - it requires that at least one column is enabled.

However, if the grid contains any non-hidden columns which have IncludeInMenu=false, then it should be possible to disable all the remaining columns using the column menu.

It would be nice to have the option for a single filter input that searches all columns on the Grid. I was able to implement my own custom solution but having to apply that to every grid in my app is cumbersome.

I understand the importance for the flexibility side of having each column with its own filter box, but for simpler apps this is overkill and a single filter box is enough. The column component already has the [filterable] flag so this can possibly be used to exclude any columns if necessary.

I was thinking of something similar to what is an out of the box feature for the Datatables JS plugin

https://datatables.net/

Default search box that searches everything. Very simple to use and understand for basic users or when your application only calls for something that simplistic.

My users ask for this in almost every application. When a grid is grouped, the users want to see the groups in an order that indicates some ranking by an aggregate value. For example, If SALES-DETAIL table is grouped by SALESPERSON, the default alphabetic order of the groups might be AMELIA, BARBARA, CARLOS, DAVID, HARRY, THOMAS, ZELDA. But users want to see the groupings in descending order by the salesperson's TotalSales, which might be HARRY, ZELDA, AMELIA, THOMAS...etc. So we need a way to specify a custom-group-sortorder. And to be perfectly clear, that is the sequence of groups with respect to each other, not the order of detail data inside the group. The detail records might be sorted chronologically by SalesDate regardless of the order of the group relative to each other. In SQL the equivalent would be ... GROUP BY SALESPERSON ORDER BY SUM(TotalSales) DESC(ending). This feature would work hand-in-glove with another requested feature, showing the group footer when the group is collapsed.
