The "change" event on DropDownList is being triggered when the value change of the widget is via API and not triggered by user interaction.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Manually select a value for category (like Category 4); a console item should be written for user change
  2. Click the "change doc to empty" button which clears the category
  3. Click the "change doc to values" button which programmatically sets the category

Expected: a log item is NOT added because the change was programmatic and the log item is triggered on "change"
Actual: a log item is added even though the value change was programmatic

The change detection inside the select widget is faulty in that it seems to be effected by focus/blur state.

This issue was found after upgrading kendo UI.  I believe the issue was introduced in 2018.1.117

On line 157 of kendo.aspnetmvc.js:

return 'datetime\'' + kendo.format('{0:yyyy-MM-ddTHH-mm-ss}', value) + '\'';

As far as I know this format is non compliant with any standard format.
Could this please be compliant with ISO-8601 standard so that its more universal for APIs to be able to handle?

Drop down widget is defaulted to first option even though ng-model is undefined, in case where we bind same value to k-data-value-field and k-data-text-field.

Please have a look on the below sample code where you can find issue. My expectation is drop down should not default when model value is not assigned.

<!DOCTYPE html>
    <base href="">
    <style>html { font-size: 14px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; }</style>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="" />

    <script src=""></script>
    <script src=""></script>
    <script src=""></script>

<div id="example" ng-app="KendoDemos">
    <div class="demo-section k-content" ng-controller="MyCtrl">
    <input kendo-drop-down-list
            style="width: 100%"></input>

  angular.module("KendoDemos", [ "kendo.directives" ])
      .controller("MyCtrl", function($scope){
   // $;
    $scope.productsDataSource = new{
                        data: [{

In percent-formatted cells, Excel will place a '%' as the user types. This allows 50% to be entered as '50'.

Steps (excel and kendo):

1. Format a cell as percent

2. Enter 50

Excel shows "50.00%". The actual value is .5

Kendo widget shows "5000.00%". The actual value is 50

We are using Kendo spreadsheet one of our applications. We wanted to get applied filters and set back to the Kendo spreadsheet. Not able to find a documentation for that. Can you please anyone help to sort this issue out?

Look at the emerging WASM projects such as Blazor or Ooui. The obvious path seems to be to have a strong HTML based suite, i.e Kendo, ported to Blazor. However another option would be to improve the Xamarin forms components to have comparable functionality to their desktop counterpartys so they can be used in LOB applications under Ooui. The current Xamarin components are too mobile centric. A third option, which admittedly seems like a bit of a long shot at present, would be to take Moonlight, strip out the plugin stuff, strip out all but the layout code, and redo that to write to an HTML Canvas. Now that's probably outside your scope although in my opinion its the most attractive of the 3 options. In summary I suggest you look at providing a full featured UI component suite that runs under wasm.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go to using IE11

2. Delete a sentence in the editor by repeatedly pressing the backspace key.

The characters are deleted slowly with noticeable lag and jank.

The following profile shows the FPS drop when you repeatedly press backspace.

I believe the call to refreshTools is expensive (for IE) and it is invoked on every keyup for backspace.

Sometimes it's useful to limit users to only selecting a certain day of the week. This is possible with jQuery UI but not, AFAIK with Kendo.

The new funnel in the Q3 release is great, but it looks very flat.
It would be great to have a more 3D look.

Dojo example.

1. Resize the browser window so that its height is smaller than the DropDownTree's popup height.
2. Click the DropDownTree to open its popup.
3. The popup opens and then auto-closes

Editor does not support placeholder. It would be nice, to have this feature.

It would be great if we can have the option to have a multi-month view calendar. Like the one in the ajax suite.

This is more of a feature request...

If I want to refresh a datasource every 60 seconds, be it a grid, a dropdown, etc., I have to add a snippet of code something like this:

var interval = 60000;

         }, interval);

Yes, I realize this is trivial, but it would be nice if you could add an AutoRefresh function directly to the DataSource API that handled all of this under the covers.  Example:

           .DataSource(dataSource => dataSource
               .Model(model =>
                   model.Id(m => m.StoreId);
               .Read(read => read.Url(Url.HttpRouteUrl("GetData", null)).Data("additionalData"))
               .AutoRefresh(60) // seconds
               .Events(e => e.Error("onError"))

Category: Notification
Type: Feature Request

At present, popup notifications stay in one place on the screen and if you resize the browser while there is a visible notification, it will no longer be in the expected corner of the viewport (e.g., the bottom right) - they may be somewhere around the middle or outside of the visible viewport.

The following article shows how you can reposition them with your own by calculating the new position rules:

An alternative that may be simpler is to use your own container with fixed positioning and use inline notifications in it, instead of popup notifications. With this this, you can define such a fixed position on your div that satisfies the layout and the notifications will add content to it. An example is available in the following article:

Ideally, this feature will be built-in behind a property that will have the notification attach a handler to window.resize and will reposition the popupts automatically, maybe with a configurable delay (that is, how often after resizing the code should run). Perhaps a property like "resizeRepositionTimeout: number" can be used for both - if unset, it will default to undefined and no repositioning will occur, if set to a number, it will be used to throttle the resize event.

If I read I find “Setting Handlers through k-on Attribute” which suggests that I should be able to write `k-on-` prior to any of the events documented at and automatically run under `$apply()` or `$applyAsync()`. However, when I try that, my event handler doesn’t even run at all.

I think this is an oversight.

I can reproduce this in which is generated from the link at which uses AngularJS v1.7.2 and Kendo UI v2018.3.1017.
