Make Spreadsheet xlsx import failure more user friendly. Currently, when xlsx import fails, the UI thread is blocked and the user needs to reload the page in the browser. The import operation instead could process the file in the background and could return meaningful message without blocking the UI.

Dear Concerned,

1. Launch https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/spreadsheet/index

2. Open attached MultipleSheetsRowHeightIssue.xlsx

3. Please notice there are 3 sheets with default row height 20, 30, 40 respectively (you can check in MS Excel)

4. Now Click export, and open the exported file again

5. Now we have an issue here - all sheets set to default row height to 40. (It seems that it is setting the last sheet's default row height to all sheets)

Its severe issue, please share a fix or at least provide some workaround.

As discussed on the forum (http://www.telerik.com/forums/virtualization-for-treelist) please improve the rendering/scrolling/expanding/collapsing performance of TreeLists with many expanded rows.

Grids support virtualization and work well with hundreds of thousands of rows (http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/virtualization-local-data). Perhaps virtualization can be added to TreeLists to achieve similar results?

We want the toolbar of the editor to always be visible on the page regardless of the user's scroll position. At the moment the toolbar is at the top of the editor and if the user scrolls the page down, the toolbar disappears from sight. We want the toolbar to always remain at the top of the focused editor, available for the end user, like here.

The div-based (inline) editor changes the size of the editor container as the text in the editor changes - it both increases and decreases in height as the user changes content.

We'd like to have the same capabilities in the iframe-based editor so that the DOM around it can flow according to the current content size.

Hello ladies and gentlemen.

At call of Dialog.destroy() will not destroy the widgets inited in Dialog.element

Window destroy:
...
_destroy: function () {
    if (this.resizing) {
            this.resizing.destroy();
    }
    if (this.dragging) {
            this.dragging.destroy();
    }
    this.wrapper.off(NS).children(KWINDOWCONTENT).off(NS).end().find('.k-resize-handle,.k-window-titlebar').off(NS);
    $(window).off('resize' + NS + this._marker);
    $(window).off(MODAL_NS);
    $(window).off(NS);
    clearTimeout(this._loadingIconTimeout);
    Widget.fn.destroy.call(this);
    this.unbind(undefined);
    kendo.destroy(this.wrapper);
    this._removeOverlay(true);
},
destroy: function () {
    this._destroy();
    this.wrapper.empty().remove();
    this.wrapper = this.appendTo = this.element = $();
},
...

Dialog destroy:
...
destroy: function () {
    var that = this;
    that._destroy();
    Widget.fn.destroy.call(that);
    that.wrapper.remove();
    that.wrapper = that.element = $();
},
_destroy: function () {
    var that = this;
    var ns = '.' + NS;
    that.wrapper.off(ns);
    that.element.off(ns);
    that.wrapper.find(KICONCLOSE + ',' + KBUTTONGROUP + ' > ' + KBUTTON).off(ns);
    that._stopCenterOnResize();
},
...

In Dialog.detroy() will kendo.destroy() not be called.

Eduard Töws

Hello,

Buttons and button groups support badges only if they are "standing alone". If buttons or button groups are part of a toolbar item collection, badge system is not working/implemented. I don't see any reason why this feature would be missing from toolbar items unless it was maybe overlooked :) For the sake of consistency and usability I think toolbar items (at least buttons) should behave the same across.

Demo: https://dojo.telerik.com/enOSuxEw/4

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Team,

Kendo grid does not allow all columns to be hidden from column menu as it disables the check box for last column in column menu.

But if we set hidden = true and menu = false properties for column, grid hides that column from grid and column menu, but enables the checkbox to hide all columns from grid leaving it empty. After which we can't get back the columns in grid which isn't valid.

Grid should always allow at least one column to be included in grid/menu.

Please find attached screenshot and below sample link.

https://dojo.telerik.com/EHOgaJUK/2

Thanks,

Jyotika

Some kind of animation for the splitters when you collapse/expand them?
Even nowadays there are people not used to the web environment, and if the collapsible pane just hides instantly (or almost) they will first think 'Where did my *whatever* went!?' so having some kind of easing they would see where did it go.

The most important part of using Vue especially in Mobile, is it's small size and performance. Unfortunately, Kendo UI's Vue components are wrappers around jQuery which is something we are trying to avoid in our ongoing developments.
I'd like to suggest building NEW Vue components in full native format with no despondency on other none related frameworks.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a DropDownTree with checkboxes, like so:

                    $("#cbxWorkZones").kendoDropDownTree({
                        placeholder: "Select Work Zones...",
                        dataTextField: "name",
                        dataValueField: "id",
                        valuePrimitive: true,
                        checkboxes: true,
                        checkAll: true,
                        autoClose: false,
                        autoBind: false,
                        dataSource: data.workZones
                    });

I get an instance of it like so:

    var wz = $('#cbxWorkZones').data("kendoDropDownTree");

I evaluate value and get this: []  meaning, there are no values selected.

Then I set its value like so:

    wz.value(["8", "6"]);

After setting the values, I evaluate value again, and I get this: [8,6,8,6]

Why are the values duplicated?

Thanks!

Juan

Hi,

It would be great if the KendoUI Grid could be enhanced to automagically recognize when it's grouping by a date field and then offer additional options to group the dates by Day, Week, Month, Quarter, or Year.

Thank you.

Barry

Dear Telerik team.

I would love to have the possibility to use drag & drop with different browser windows. As shown here.

That way my customers could make use of their multi-monitor workplaces. Opening a grid or listview with items on one screen and opening a scheduler on the other screen. Then dragging from the grid to the scheduler.

Kind regards

Bernd

A recent update has broken the style for the switch as demonstrated here - https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/offline (LESS - Material theme). Tested with Chrome and Edge

How can I make the chat component offer infinite backwards scrolling to make previous historical conversations load.  Like iMessage.  In WPF I can get at the scrolling container and faff about with loading the data, maybe.

See my other ticket view-ticket/1385134

and feedback request

I see some potential for improvements here, I see how the Spreadsheet entirely depends on the JSON structure. It doesn't have to be like this as the setDataSource() method shows clearly that the columns could be further configured:

https://www.telerik.com/forums/datasource---specify-columns#msCK2ytWcESxeUMs-6a3uQ

Therefore, the Sheet columns could be configured upon the widget initialization. Such configuration options could be represented in the following manner for the HTML helper version of the widget:

.Columns<Kendo.Mvc.Examples.Models.SpreadsheetProductViewModel>(columns =>
{
    columns.Add(c => c.ProductId).Name("Product ID").Width(100);
    columns.Add(c => c.ProductName).Name("Name").Width(415);
})

Prevent the page from scrolling the Scheduler into view if the widget is focused through keyboard navigation or selection.

We are in research for a controls which supports Track Changes features same as the track changes in MS Word.
Our application is developed in MVC and we are trying to get a Kendo UI control which supports Track Changes features.

Our requirement details in brief:

- The control should be compatible with MVC architecture.
- It should support Text editor basic features.
- It should support Track Changes for any changes made by User in the text editor.
- It should keep the history of changes made by each Users who have changes the text for any purpose.
- Popup comments are required for each changes including text formatting such as (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and ordered\unordered list).
- It should also have the functionalities for Undo-Redo changes and Accept/Reject changes.
