New edit mode: When events are retrieved, those models should always be as lightweight as possible (id, start, end, title), and not include all the other properties required to edit an event. If you have hundreds of events with lots of properties, your control does not scale well. When you then edit one of these lightweight events, it should make an ajax request to go fetch the "full" model used to populate the edit popup window. For the create, it may not have to make an ajax request, but the "full" schema needs to be defined still, so it has a model to bind, and it would be nice to have a way to dynamically specify that schema, in case you have different event model types. In my case, I have three different types of appointments the user can create/edit. Ideally, these "full" models would either get sent via ajax when the popup is closed, or when the datasource is synced, they get trimmed down to the lightweight version. Hopefully this all makes sense...it's all about having tiny models for speed, but larger models for editing. Anyone that has used your control to show tons of appointments (especially with many properties each) will likely get where I am going with this.
We are looking into the scheduler but it seems to be missing a feature that we would really want in a scheduler. If you are for example in the day view, you have left the timebar and right the events. It would be nice to zoom in on the times on the left. instead of showing events from daystart - day end you would click on a chosen starttime drag to the endtime you wish and the scheduler would zoom in on items between the selected start- endtime.
please provide us the scheduler with group by date not by resource
The Scheduler allows you to add resources to the default event form. It would be nice to be able to bind these resources to objects within a custom edit template. See this forum post for more details where Alex has given a workaround.... http://www.telerik.com/forums/can-you-use-resources-for-edit-templates
For the moment the current time mark is only visible at the first column, for a better user experience the mark should be across the widget
I would like to define a template or a message or something such that when there's no events the scheduler doesn't just look like a smushed collection of buttons, or having to set a min-height on the event zone or some other hack.
Autoscroll when dragging an object from outside the scheduler (e.a. from a grid) is already available and works fine. It would be really nice to have this vert same functionality also available while dragging an event that's already in the scheduler...
A feature that allows the events in the Scheduler to have their ‘margin-bottom’ property assigned programmatically. This is required to support custom events with a border-width > 1px. Currently, the code calculating event position assumes the border-width on events will be 1px, and it works perfectly when that assumption is correct. Increasing the border-width results in events overlapping each other, which is something I’d like to avoid.
Create property set set text and style for "more items" button in month view, currently set to "..." my user requested to set to language specific text like '"more items". Create property to set which view the "more items" button will navigate too, currently set to day but for my project had to override it to agenda view.
Would like to have the view scroll to show the events for the current time rather than the first allowable time. Example, let's say the current time is 1:30pm, would like the view scroll to 1:30pm rather than 12:00am when the page is loaded or refreshed
There should be a way to programmatically get the selected timeslots from the scheduler. This might need to have the ability to not lose focus on blur of scheduler
Resources could be working for an organization or multiple organizations (i.e. doctor rounding multiple hospitals). It would help to have another level or multiple levels on top of Resources so they can be filtered. i.e. I can select Hospital A and then select all the doctors (resources) under Hospital A and look at all schedules for that resource.
I am using KendoUI - free version for schedulers. Everything is working perfectly except Partial Postback. My Client Wants Partial Postback when the calender is filtered or new Event is created ....I have implemented the Ajax but somehow its not working completely - the scheduler does not rebind with new values, its state does not changes ... . However, data is being updated with the partial postback in the database. I am running on a strict timeline.... so any help would be great. Thank you in advance.
The RecurrenceEditor is a great feature for the scheduler widget. I would also like to use it in other scenarios like a task planer. However such an isolated scenario is currently not supported (ticket answer). In combination with angularJS i.e. I do not have the datepicker correctly displayed.
I would like to see built-in support for copying/pasting of events in the scheduler. If multiple schedulers exist on the same page, it doesn't matter to me if you can copy/paste between them. CTRL+C and CTRL+V as well as a context menu would be nice.
Allow the sorting of all day events in day / week views and allow sorting of events in month view as well. A lot of all-day events have the same start and end time, it would be nice to be able to sort them on another field in my model.
