Bug report

When the Scheduler is grouped, selecting a cell from the last row does not mark it as selected in IE 11 in TimelineView.

Reproduction of the problem

You will notice that the same cell in the previous row is marked as selected.

Current behavior

Selection does not mark the correct cell as selected in TimeLine View with grouping.

Expected/desired behavior

Selection should mark the correct cell as selected in TimeLine View with grouping.

Environment

  • Kendo UI version: 2019.2.516
  • Browser: [all]

Hi,

I'm looking to be able to modify agenda view, so that it is like the group headers in grid - having the date as the group header and then the events that occur on that date shown underneath (also collapsible). Is this possible?

I also tried to do this in the grid but it doesn't seem to work due to the fact that it using a start and an end, not a single date column.

Thanks

Dear Telerik,

My problem is behind the "timelineMonth" view of the Scheduler. In the documentation it is written that "showWorkHours" has a support only behind "day" and "week" views. But it is not really like that. In fact, it is included also in "timeline" and "timelineWeek" views and it works fine. Even more, this feature works also in "timelineMonth", but with a small exception that I want to focus on your attention.

Here is an example showing the problem. It's only about selecting the "today" (in my example the "date" property is showing "today". The same behavior could be achieved if you change it to another date and click the "today" button).

I can show you another particular example describing why this feature is very useful. Here, if the user press on "show business hours" button and then select the "Timeline Month", he will break the logic behind. And it makes somehow the "Show Business Hours" button problematic. And let say I should make some workaround to avoid this thing happens, but not sure why.

Hope this is valuable.

Best Regards, Boyan.

According to the documentation for Scheduler.select() this method should "Gets or sets the events (or slots) which are selected." But if I pass in an array of multiple uid elements it only selects the last item in the array.

Code

jsbin example: https://jsbin.com/nirisakavo/1/edit?html,js,output

Really just added a function to select all:

function SelectAll() {
  var scheduler = $("#scheduler").data("kendoScheduler");
  var allEvents = scheduler.data().map(function(val, i) { return val.uid; });
  scheduler.select(allEvents);
}

Repro

Click the 'Select All' button.

Expected: Selects all events.

Actual: Selects only last event.

Dear Telerik team.

Currently you use hard coded formats to display dates and times.

majorTimeHeaderTemplate: '<span class=\'k-time-text\'>#=kendo.toString(date, \'h:mm\')#</span> ' + '<span class=\'k-time-period\'>#=kendo.toString(date, \'tt\')#</span>'

It would be nice if you would respect the culture settings and at least I would not have to change the templates every time I use a scheduler.

I didn't check all your widgets, but I guess the scheduler is not the only one ignoring the culture settings.

Please make use of the current culture settings/patterns

Thanks in advance

Bernd

We have a need to be able to provide a dropdown above the scheduler, in order to allow the end user to change the time zone of the scheduler dynamically, even after it has been initialized. Our team was disappointed that this is currently not possible (http://www.telerik.com/forums/timezone-dropdown), but maybe in the future. Thanks for reading.

It would be very useful from a visual and functional perspective to be able to view scheduler items in a year view, that seems to be currently unsupported.

Hi there,

I would like to know if there is a way to add aggregates to a kendo scheduler?

There is a particular value that I'd like to apply an aggregate.sum to, then have that sum appear in a header. Is this possible with the scheduler? or is there some work around?

Thank you,

Brodie

See demo:

I'm not sure about other themes but this is the one we use.  Submitting so you can provide a fix in next version but can you provide a CSS fix for this that we can add to our page in the meantime?

See attached screenshot.

Thanks!

Dear Support Team,

Please try the following scenario. Create a weekly recurring event for the 4rth of April that has no end.
Go at the next week (9/4 - 13/4) and move the event (11/4) 1 hour forward. At the confirmation popup please select 'Edit the series'.
Go back to the previous week (2/4 - 6/4). The event of 4/4 has disappeared!!

The specific dates are used as an example. Feel free to use any date your want.

Thank you in advance,
Thomas.

When using the Scheduler with multiple resources, the day, week and work week views become unresponsive as a result of the view loading all of the resources.

The following dojo demonstrates this http://dojo.telerik.com/EvEROL

It would be good if the Scheduler could be configured to allow virtual scrolling so that resources can be loaded at the point of scrolling down the view.

An example of why this might be required is:
- You have two lists of resources, one for projects and one for staff
- You would like to group the events by resource and see which member of staff they are assigned to and to which job they belong to.
- This would allow you to easily re-assign events to different members of staff or to different projects by dragging and dropping.

The configuration should provide a flag for rendering small events to take up their actual size. The current default size of an event is the size of a slot, if the event's duration is smaller than the slot duration. It would be nice to be able to switch to a behavior where if an event is 5 min and the slot is 15 min, it will show up with the size of a third of the slot. This was possible in the Silverlight implementation, with the EnableSmallAppointmentsRendering flag set to false (for Silverlight that was the default behavior).

There should be the ability to show resources (this is multiple resources) without grouping. All resources will show in a line. This would have worked in our case where we have employees and sub-contractors as two different set of resources but cannot be grouped. We needed to show both the sets on the scheduler at the same time and also assign events across to both sets (so an event can belong to an employee and sub-contractor). The two sets cannot be combined into one resources collection as the resources can have the same Ids

In a Kendo Scheduler it would be nice to view the grouped items like treeview which can expand and collapse the rows. We have the same expand/collapse function with Kendo Gantt control, need the same in Kendo Scheduler

Currently you have to map every required property manually. Like this:

                model.Field("start", typeof(DateTime)).From("Start");
                model.Field("end", typeof(DateTime)).From("End");
                model.Field("title", typeof(string)).From("Title");
                model.Field("description", typeof(string)).From("Description");
                model.Field("recurrenceID", typeof(int)).From("RecurrenceID");
                model.Field("recurrenceRule", typeof(string)).From("RecurrenceRule");
                model.Field("recurrenceException", typeof(string)).From("RecurrenceException");
                model.Field("isAllDay", typeof(bool)).From("IsAllDay");
                model.Field("startTimezone", typeof(string)).From("StartTimezone");
model.Field("endTimezone", typeof(string)).From("EndTimezone");

It would be nice to be able to use the short form:

model.Field("Start");
...

The problem is not the "huge" amount of typing. What did cost me time was finding out that the SignalR version isn't working like the others.
