### Bug report
The Ctrl + Shift + Arrow key keyboard shortcut should select a range in the row/column starting with the active cell and ending with the first cell in the row/column that has a value: [list of shortcuts](https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/controls/data-management/spreadsheet/end-user/list-of-shortcuts) used by the Spreadsheet. It works similarly in Excel.

### Current behavior
The selection does not end at the first cell that has a value, it ends with the last cell of the row/column.

### Expected/desired behavior
The expected behavior should be as described in the documentation: "Extends the selection of cells to the last nonblank cell in the same row or column as the active cell."

### Environment

The issue is reproducible when the grid consists only from Multi-header columns, the setDataSource() method has been used and one of the columns is initially hidden.

After setting the new data source, the last header gets hidden. The "display: none;" style has been applied to the "th" HTML element.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a grid with multi-header columns only.

2. Hide one column initially.

3. Set a new data source via the setDataSource() method.

4. The last column gets hidden.

Bug report

When a string, used as old_text for SUBSTITUTE(text, old_text, new_text, [instance_num]) function, is repeated more than once and the new_text is an empty string, one occurrence of the old_text remains not substituted.

Reproduction of the problem

  1. Go to Spreadsheet Basic usage demo
  2. Add a new sheet
  3. Type ab113abababab11ab in A1
  4. Enter the following formula in B1 =SUBSTITUTE(A1, "ab", "")

NOTE: substituting ab with another string, e.g. cd, replaces all instances of ab as expected.

Current behavior

113ab11 - when ab is repeated more than once in a row, one of its instances remains unchanged to an empty string

Expected/desired behavior

11311

1. Open "Sample Kendo UI SpreadSheet Example.html" attached html file in the chrome browser.

2. Click on open button in the Toolbar of the spreadsheet.

3. Select "Sample Excel with Font Colors.xlsx" attached excel file. This excel file contains headers with background color and Rows with ForeColors.

4. Now when the file is loaded, you will observe that B2, B3 and B5 should come up in Red fore color but the fore color of these cell in the kendo spread sheet is Black.

5. Similarly C2 to C5 should come in Green color but the fore color in the spreadsheet is black.

Query: Kindly let me know how can we achieve the fore color present in the excel sheet show show up in the Kendo UI Spreadsheet?

When the Kendo UI Treelist is horizontally scrollable and a filter is applied which returns no items, the scrollbar disappears. Therefore, if the column is one of the hidden ones, it would be impossible to navigate to it in order to clear the filter.

Reproduce the problem:

  1. Create a page with 6 kendo UI MediaPlayers and stream 6 videos (YouTube or live HTTP stream). This should work fine.
  2. Create a page with more than 6 kendo UI MediaPlayers and stream that many videos (YouTube or live HTTP stream). This will not work properly

In kendo dojo (https://dojo.telerik.com/iLASIwUw and KendoError.jpg) 1 or more of the MediaPlayers give this error: "Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available. "

Using my own application (see attached page zip and CustomError.jpg) I create multiple MediaPlayers. The first 6 work perfectly. Every video I add after the first 6 just shows a white screen. No errors are given.

I did note, when using my own example, that when one of the 6 working streams is closed, one of the 4 not working MediaPlayers starts playing, i.e. no more than 6 running MediaPlayers at any one time.

For the kendo dojo example, each MediaPlayer is attempting to stream from the same YouTube video.

For my example, each MediaPlayer is streaming from a different HTTP stream.

What can I do to play more than 6 MediaPlayers at once on one HTML page?

Kind regards,

Keyan Monadjem

We are working on enterprise product, which uses Progress Telerik jQuery KendoUI components extensively purchased by our Company. In which Kendo PanelBar is used in many modules of our product.

Now a days we are working on Accessibility (i.e. keyboard and screen reader) as part of out-of-box feature of our product.

The Kendo Panel Bar has been made accessible so that it can be navigated using the keyboard arrow keys, once it receives focus via Tab Key.

We have created small example on dojo.telerik.com (i.e. which can be referred on https://dojo.telerik.com/@chiragvidani/EBEPUnoY/3) to explain issue faced by us, when accessing via Screen Reader. Please find issues below:

  1. When the panel bar is initialized in expanded state and on receiving focus by Kendo PanelBar widget, screen reader reads Header as well as Content. Now because of this, content is read twice (i.e. second time when we navigate to content using down arrow keys one at a time). Whereas behavior in collapsed state is as expected.
  2. Also, to read out the expand/collapse event of PanelBar we need to programmatically remove role attribute from <ul> and <li> tags after initialization of widget.

Secondly when referring WAI-ARIA practices on www.w3.org website (i.e. https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices/examples/accordion/accordion.html), we found some differences as explained below:

  1. Header of PanelBar or Accordion is surrounded by <button> inside <h3> (i.e. reference link is https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices/#accordion)
  2. Content of PanelBar or Accordion has an aria-labelledby attribute with value containing ID of respective Header.
  3. In WAI-ARIA website PanelBar or Accordion is generated using combination of relevant <div> markup, whereas in Kendo, its generated using <ul> and <li> markup.
  4. In current implementation of Kendo PanelBar, focus is set to <ul>, whereas in demo of w3.org website its being set to <button> placed as a header in order to restrict reading of list keyword.

Kindly help us with your assistance.

Thanks,

Chirag Vidani

Dear Concerned,

1. Launch https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/spreadsheet/index

2. Try to select columns B to D using mouse

3. Click on column B, keeping mouse clicked, move your mouse towards C then D

4. It does not allow to select B,C,D where as it is possible in Excel.

It is serious issue for me as I could not proceed with Hide/Unhide columns and some other features depend on multiple columns selection

Note: if we add a blank row at first position then it works well, seems like first with merged columns is creating problem.

When a ContextMenu is opened for the first time, the animation is not executed. Every consequent open trigger the animation successfully.

The issue can be observed in the following Dojo.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open the ContextMenu and notice there is no animation.
  • Open the ContextMenu again and notice the default animation is triggered.

Hi,

You prob. already know this, but in Chrome attribute autocomplete should be "disabled" instead of "off" for e.g. combobox - then we don't get the auto fill.

Even thought it has no id nor name - I think it looks at the lavbel - in my case its "Name" and the combobox get a big Chrome auto fill from the address book. Setting it from "off" to "disabled" will disable both auto complete AND auto fill.

The same goes for the AJAX Combobox - will you notify that team too? Current hotfix for that is `$(".rcbInput").attr("autocomplete", "disabled");`

Thanks

/Anders

In a grid with virtualization, when just normally scrolling down requests for the exact same data are often sent multiple times after each other. The reason for this is probably that the grid sends an asynchronous request for example Top 100, Skip 200 and then does not keep track of that it is still waiting for a reply for this request, before asking for the same data a short period later.

Commonly requests for the same data is made 2 or 3 or more times after each other, causing performance problem at the server side and in many cases unnecessary calls to the database. Fixing this should lower the number of requests for data to the server considerably, maybe with a factor two or more with just normal grid operation when the user is just scrolling down to view more data in the grid.

To demonstrate the problem, open a copy of the virtualization grid demo, for example here:

https://dojo.telerik.com/iXijoyaY

Open the Developer Tools and just observe which network requests are sent to the server. Just scroll down in any way and observe that very often the exact same request is made. A request for the same data has the same Top and Skip values in the parameters sent the server. You can see the servers reply is exactly the same JSON data multiple times after each other.

Solving this performance problem almost completely would seemingly be to in a variable just keep track of the "Latest request" sent, since the problem happens mostly just with normal scrolling in one direction with request sent after each other. So one would need to keep track of that a call for Top 100, Skip 200 has been made, and if the program wants to request the exact same data again, just wait for a reply for the first request, instead of sending a new one. (If needed, send a new request only after a specific timeout for a reply for the first one).

A more thorough solution would be to have a data structure to keep track of the Top and Skip tuples for all the calls to the server that has not yet have had a reply from the server, and not repeat those exact same calls again if still waiting for a reply for the first request.

Hello ladies and gentlemen.

In Bootstrap 4 (and Material) SASS theme the opacity setting for placeholder is missed.

Example: https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/multiselect/index

My fix for Bootstrap 4 (I not known the opacity setting for Material placeholders):

.k-multiselect-wrap {
  > .k-readonly {
    opacity: 0.7;
  }
}

Bug report

When the filtering mode of the grid is set to "row" and the filter is programmatically cleared, the "Clear filter" button does not hide.

Reproduction of the problem

Set filterable: {mode: "row"}.
Filter for instance "Is null" or "Is not null".
Clear the filter - $("#grid").getKendoGrid().dataSource.filter({});
The "Clear filter" button is not hidden
sample Dojo:

https://dojo.telerik.com/AVOqifeK

If there is text in the filter's input, the button is hidden.

Expected/desired behavior

Hide the "Clear filter" button, irrespectively whether the filter has been cleared programmatically or via the UI.
