Having the ability to create "right mouse click" context menus would be very nice.

Many calendars have the ability to show a column of ISO week numbers alongside the dates (either to the right or the left). Although it's not a show stopper I have such a requirement in my current project. While other controls offer this there are none I know of which permit custom calculation of the week number - another requirement for this project.

Please consider adding a sample Line-Of-Business (LOB) application to your demo page.
This more complex LOB app demo should show KendoUI widgets working together.
Here are a couple ideas:
- TabStrip contents containing Grids, Graphs, complex entry form, or another nested TabStrip.
- Window having other nested KendoUI widgets in its content.
- Nested wigets should 'lazy' load or load on demand?
- MVVM events wiring between widgets?

We're new to KendoUI, and it would really help to see how a proper LOB app powered by KendoUI is built, especially with that cool MVVM.

Thanks.

My number one suggestion for Kendo UI would be a Kendo UI kind of bootstrap / foundation.

We all know Twitter Bootstrap and Zurb Foundation. The main advantage of these html frameworks are in my opinion:

#1. Rapid development of layouts
#2. html elements are supported (forms, tables, buttons)
#3. Reponsive (and in some cases fluid) grid.
#4. Usuable threwout the internet (ie, firefox, chrome, safari etc).
#5. User Friendly to start and work with.

In the first place I am not suggesting to integrate one of those (that would be my second..) My first suggestion is, make one of your own (fork it or what ever? to start) So that we have not only a html foundation of the project, the elements are also fully integrated with each other. So you can have one uniform theme threw out the whole website / project.

So.. That is my first suggestion, and ofcourse the second one related to this one is, when you guys dont want to create your own, integrate a (lets call it css/html framework) that is fluid (because in my opinion, kendo ui is really for business software, and with fluid width you can have more information on your screen..)

Hopefully you take this suggestion in consideration. It would really make a different!

Just like in the grid and mobile listview, i would like to see an endless scroll option (or serverside paging with virtual scroll) in the Web version of ListView.

It would be great if it is possible to disable certain dates in the calendar. Maybe if it is possible to pass an entire array with calendar-date-objects, it would be more convenient to disable dates or highlight certain dates.
e.g. CalendarDateObject could have 3 properties:
- CSS class (this style would be applied to that certain date)
- Disabled true/false; default = true (if disabled, date is not clickable)
- Footer text (When you hover over the date, you can see this text in the footer)

By using an array of objects, you don't have to check if a date is in a certain array to change the CSS-class of that date. In the way it is now implemented, you have to write all lines of code to check if the date is in an array.

It would be convenient if you could specify the output format using a data attribute such as the following rather than having to write a new viewmodel function:

<span data-format="{0:C}" data-bind="text: amount"></span>

Currently you have to bind the element to a new viewmodel function which doesn't lend itself to the observable concept with remote data sources.

Currently it seems that kendoDropDown only supports select elements with options and not optgroups. Would like to see this widget support select elements with both optgroup and option elements.

There are a couple of basic controls which I'm missing in Kendo UI WEB for example:
- Rating
- Carousel
- Progress Bar
- Image Cropper
- etc.

Please have a look at this non-commercial framework: http://www.alloyui.com

Hi,

The combobox and autocomplete are ok - but I think the usability and functionality could be dramatically be improved with better filtering, support for option groups and support for multi-select.

Can you please enhance the these controls to behave more like the Chosen dropdown control?

Thanks,
Glenn

I've been trying to use these great UI widgets in PHP update forms and the lack of documentation on how to use the datasource and widgets together in PHP forms is incredibly frustrating. Seems like it would be a very small job for one of the kendo gurus to come up with the following and add it to the examples and/or documentation:

Update forms:
In update forms you need to initialize the widget(dropdowns, comboboxes, etc...) with the value of the column in the database and provide the list of options to choose from to edit the data. I assume there is a way to do this using the datasource but there is zero documentation on this. Please provide a simple example with a standard php update form with the widgets pulling the form data from a simple query based on a selected id, just like every standard php form on the web, with clear code showing us how to configure the widgets so that they contain the data from the db when initialized and providing the list of options via the widgets dedicated datasource.

This is very simple stuff and should take one of your junior techs 10 minutes and would make some of us very happy.

Thanks!

It would be nice to have a built in PDF viewer control in the Kendo UI and Kendo UI Mobile. Especially Mobile so we do not have to search the net for decent controls that may or may not work for the different devices.

For example the grid with filtering turned on appends multiple div and form elements to the body element. It is impossible to clean these up which is very important in a single page application. Every widget should have a destroy method which is capable of removing any associated events and elements it was responsible for creating.

There has been many scenarios where I've needed to know when a DataSource finishes a "read" or "sync" operation.

I know there's the global "sync" event that I can bind to, but a lot of the time I only care about the result of one specific sync call. I can use the "one" method to only listen to it once, but this complicates things when I also care about errors. Since I need to register callbacks for both the "sync" and "error" events, and then unregister either one or the other, depending on which event fired.

It's even harder hooking into a "read" event because the DataSource doesn't expose one. I know I can hook into the "change" event of the DataSource, but I still have to guess whether the change event was fired because of read, or because of some other change.

If these methods returned a deferred it would be a lot easier to handle the circumstances where an app needs to do additional things after a "read" or "sync" is completed.

To support various language,
I think KendoUI need language pack system.

Current globalization supports only currency, number format and few label for calendar.

It's so hard to change default english label for buttons and messages.
Sometimes, It's hardcoded in kendo.js file.

It's much better to handle such things in one language file.
Not with individual configuration.

I think, it would by great, to have option to chunk files into smaller pieces. It allows better uploading big files. When using PHP backend, there is max post size restriciton. I think, chunking method is faster etc.

handle RTL support in this awesome package. We really need such feature for using this library in our RTL-Language-Based Clients' projects.
