There is an option to freeze the left most column of the Kendo Grid by setting the lockable property.
But this is limited to the Left Hand Side columns only and there are no ways suggested to freeze the Right Most columns.

Add 'Select All' checkbox on top of the column list in ColumnMenu so that it is easier to select all or none of the columns of the grid.

When using Frozen columns in the grid, the frozen column is not usable for vertical scrolling when used in a mobile application.

This means that it is not possible to swipe up and Down on the frozen column to scroll the grid vertically. This again makes the user experience very odd (actually it feels like a bug), because it is not natural to have to use the other, none froze columns, to be able to scroll vertically.

Thanks!

I want to disable/hide the columnMenu the same way like disabling sorting or filtering...
it is not supported the same way as disabling sorting or filtering but only with some Javascript which is not a good solution and not consistent

For performance reasons, we would like to only show the group headers collapsed when first grouping, and only add its child rows when expanded. This is done for hierarchical grids and minimizes unnecessarily large DOMs for data the user will never look at.

The new event should fire as soon as the grid is fully rendered und ready to take user input or focus.

We need this for automated UI Testing. SetTimeout does not work reliable.

Hi, we use the grid "toolbar" property.  But, we found that the documentation of the kendoToolBar "standalone" offers more possibilities, like adding a type "separator", groups, toggle, ...

My question is:
When I create my grid, is it possible to get a reference to its containing kendoToolBar (if it's a complete kendoToolBar ?), that allow to add more complex items.

Something like:

var kgrid = $('#grid1').kendoGrid({toolbar: [...]}).data("kendoGrid").

var kToolbar = $('#grid1 .k-grid-toolbar').data("kendoToolBar") // or kgrid._secret_property?

kToolbar.add({type: "separator"})

I tried that, but the kToolbar is undefined.

I'd like to request the functionality to change the multiple selection process of the Kendo UI Grid to be the same as Excel.  For example, the following shows a block of cells selected instead of all of the cells in-between the selected cells from Shift+Clicking:

Thank you!

Hi,

The Kendo UI Grid has the ability to conditionally hide/show the command columns. But in order to hide some buttons from the toolbar, you need a dataBound handler. It will be useful to hide the "Create" button from non-admins, but be able to show the PDF and Excel Export or hide the entire toolbar.

toolbar: [
    { name: "create", visible:function(){ return isAdmin; } },
    { name: "reports" , visible: function(){ return isManager }},
    { name: "cancel" }
  ],

Currently, we need to use this dataBound handler:

.Events(e=>e.DataBound("onDataBound"))

 function onDataBound(e) {
   if (true) { // the condition against which you want to show/hide the toolbar
     this.element.find(".k-grid-toolbar").hide(); // hides the entire toolbar
     this.element.find(".k-grid-add").hide(); // hides just the Create button
  }
}

Thank you in advance,
Ken

We need a way to disable the _step function (kendo.web.js) from being run whenever keying up or down in a nullable NumericTextBox grid column. Without this, moving between cells is setting the value of the cell being stepped out of to zero despite no text/numerical input. Our workaround was to override the Kendo JS to skip the majority of the _step logic by checking for whether spinners were disabled:

if(that.options.spinners === false) {
	return;
}

It seems that you would want to conditionally have clearSelection() behave differently with persistSelection enabled, as it does not clear the selection of items on other pages. At the very least offer us a clearAllSelections() method if modifying the behavior of the other method is not desirable.

Hi.

kendoGrid Pager has a feature of disabling focus of pager arrows with a tabindex="-1".

I was able to override this behavior in some cases. But sometimes it becomes tricky to override this behavior.

My question is:

"Is it possible to disable this behavior, not to override it but really disable. Or if not - maybe you have plans to add such an option in the future (maybe I can submit to the feature updates somewhere)?"

I would like to request the feature to allow auto-Scrolling in the Kendo UI Grid when selecting cells outside of the displayed view of records.  I would specifically like to see this feature for columns out of view from the right or left.  This would be similar to Excel's behavior.

Thank you!

As followup on Ticket ID: 1431527 screenshots and sample code provided.

"The GridColumnBuild does not have an implementation for the Locked functionality against the dynamic type. The class that gets serialized and sent to the client-side would not have a property for the locked column, therefore, there would be no locked columns."

Can you please examine this functionality?

Best,

Peter

When using a screenreader in navigate mode the grid does not announce that the column headers are links that can be used to sort the table.  There are aria-label tags added when a grid grouping function is active (like the demo at https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/keyboard-navigation), but there is no aira-label text to indicate the sorting behavior.
