If I take the splitter basic usage example and put the menu basic usage example inside the toparea of the splitter - the dropdowns of the menu comes behind the next area of the splitter and is not visible.

I've tried to adjust z-index etc on the menu to get the dropdowns over the splitterareas, but I can not get it to expand over the other splitter areas.

I can send you screenshots/code etc if you need it..
Tested with IE9 (9.0.8112.16421) and Chrome 14.0.835.202 and Opera 11.51

Its a small thing, but annoying.

i dynamically add subitems to the tree on expansion.
therefore i do not need to load the whole data on start.

so, on the tree init i just have on the items, that contain children an <ul></ul> to indicate it has children.
that works just as expected.
but when the user clicks on the expand icon, the event treeView.expand does not get fired.

My current workaround is, to add an invisible dummy
<ul><li style="visibility:hidden"></li></ul> to indicate there are subitems.
and when the expand event runs, loading the item, and removing the dummy...
Thats far from perfect.

For the app we're currently building, a chromeless, modal window would have saved us lots of time and coding and there are other applications where this could be very useful (especially in the ad serving industry for instance allowing affiliate marketers to place various javascript widgets on their sites that load remote content, etc).

Ability to use template apposed to field(s) in dataTextField and dataValueField. This feature will make control more flexible and customizable on client side.

Add a new feature to easily export/import current grid settings, such as the column size, page index, page size, column index, etc. This is useful for saving/restoring individual user's custom grid.

This can be added to other databound widgets, too, such as the ListView.

Based on this thread that I created: http://www.kendoui.com/forums/ui/grid/save-load-grid-settings.aspx

Make the grid reactive, in that when the window gets small enough(mobile size), a possibility could be to have one total column. So instead of a row having 4 columns, each row would have 4 subrows; i.e., it would look more like a treeview.

It would be nice to have a control such as iOS datetime picker
http://www.dosomethinghere.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/datetimepicker.png

- and it would be even better if we coulld have a combobox similar to the datetime picker where we have only one scroll to select a perticular text!!

As per this forum post: http://www.kendoui.com//forums/mvc/grid/bug-grouping-name-does-not-honor-mvc-attributes.aspx, the MVC Helpers for the Grid honor the Display attribute in certain situations, but not others.Namely, when a column with a [Display] attribute is turned into a Group, the DisplayAttribute.Name is no longer honored.

But even that is technically not the correct behavior. The correct behavior is for the group to use DisplayAttribute.GroupName, then DisplayAttribute.Name if the GroupName is not specified.

As suggested here - http://kendo.uservoice.com/forums/127393-kendo-ui-feedback/suggestions/2522564-server-rendering-for-templates I plan on rendering javascript on the server for a single unified binding codebase. Except, I plan on implementing my own rendering engine and have no need for you to do that for me.

However, kendo needs to bind everything and enumerate the DOM such as my question here - http://www.kendoui.com/forums/ui/dropdownlist/dropdownlist-autobinding-dom.aspx. For Kendo to be used on the server side it has to (optionally) render things like dropdown lists, grids, etc completely and control visibility based on CSS rather than partially rendering the DOM (understandably for DOM performance). ie. disable virtualization option for all controls.

Make sure that Kendo works with server-side rendering for SEO purposes otherwise it's useless for my intended use.

This feature is necessary for server-side rendering with - http://kendo.uservoice.com/forums/127393-kendo-ui-feedback/suggestions/2678704-single-page-application-spa- in combination with https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/.

I find myself having to define fields and columns multiple times for use in grids and data sources. It would be nice to be able to use a single structure that would work for both. The visible setting would control if the field is displayed in the grid or not.

For example:

    _myColumns = [
        { field: "Position.Name", title: "Position", width: 20, type: "string", editable: true, visible: false },
        { field: "Headcount.value", title: "Headcount", width: 15, type: "string", editable: true },
        { field: "FTE.value", title: "FTE", width: 15, type: "string", editable: true },
        { field: "EmployeeName.value", title: "EmployeeName", width: 50, type: "string", editable: true },
        { field: "JobCode.value", title: "JobCode", width: 20, type: "string", editable: true },
        { field: "JobTitle.value", title: "JobTitle", width: 100, type: "string", editable: true  }
    ]

then, this can be used in $().kendoGrid( { columns: mycolumns } ) and the data source $().kendo.data.DataSource( { fields: mycolumns } ).

Hey,
I am not sure, if it is a bug, or if I am just wrong, but I tried this:

    $(".DatePicker").kendoDatePicker();
    $(".DatePicker").data("kendoDatePicker").enable(false);
    $(".NumericTextBox").kendoNumericTextBox();
    $(".NumericTextBox").data("kendoNumericTextBox").enable(false);

This works fine for all DatePickers, but on NumericTextBoxes it thows an exception ("object is null or undefined"). Using ids to enable/disable NumericTextBoxes works though.

would be great to have the option to set an image in a datagrids title, or alternatively be able to specify a title-template (like row-template but for headers)

It would be nice to have the IF and IFNOT bindings like KnockoutJS has. It would help keep the DOM cleaner instead of having to use the Visible binding.

The possibility to have both edit modes in a grid. I want to (for example) instant edit my columns in the grid, but also have a (custom) popup window wich will allow me to edit more fields not included in the grid (but still in the datasource ofcourse).

Currently if you have combos that are bound via MVVM or knockout etc and have a kendo data source on them for doing suggest lookup they will query everything without a filter to get the display value for the bound value that is set to the value property of the combo.

I should be able to pre-populate an initial set of data on the datasource which it will use when the value property is set. If and only if it isn't set, it should then go and do an odata query with filtering for the specific item and only the specific item based on the field that the dataValueField is bound to, not everything.

Further the combobox and auto-complete should cache data and searches previously done so that it doesn't have to hit the data source again in these scenarios as the user types.
