Bug report

The select method of the range in the Spreadsheet component throws an error when we have a selected cell in the visible area of the component and try to select a range that is outside of this visible area.
The bug is replicable both when the range is passed as exact cells or row-column pair:

  • sheet.range(3,2,3,3).select();
  • sheet.range("C4:E6").select();

** This is a regression from the R3 2019 release

Reproduction of the problem

  1. Open this Dojo
  2. Scroll to row 70+ and select a random cell
  3. Press the "Select range" button

Current behavior

The following error appears in the browser's console
image

If you scroll to the top rows of the Spreadsheet there is a visual selection of the cells that are passed in the range

Expected/desired behavior

On "Select range" click the "C4:E6" cell range should be selected and the Spreadsheet should be automatically scrolled to this selection.

Here is a working demo: https://dojo.telerik.com/uRERUxOm

Environment

Bug report

Regression introduced in R1 2020.

Reproduction of the problem

Reproducible in the demo.

  1. Focus the DropDownTree.
  2. Click the "Check all" checkbox.

Current behavior

The DropDownTree items are not checked. The issue is reproducible only if the checkbox is clicked. Clicking its label, or checking the checkbox with the keyboard (Space key) checks all items as expected.

Expected/desired behavior

All items are checked.

Reproduction of the problem

Dojo example.

  1. Open the browser dev tools (Network tab)
  2. Select a file for upload in the FileManager
  3. Check the data sent with the request to the Upload end point

Current behavior

The additional data set in the upload event handler (e.data) is not sent with the request.

Expected/desired behavior

The additional data is sent with the request.

The following dojo example contains a workaround:

<script>
  kendo.ui.FileManager.fn._sendUploadPathParameter = function(ev) {
    ev.data = $.extend(ev.data, { path: this.path() });
  };
</script>

Hi,

There is a bug on the kendo grid when you have inline editing and a filter applied

So what's happening is that when you apply a filter and then click on "add new record" it doesn't show the new record, even worst it actually add the new empty record in the datasource, so you see new empty line when you remove the filter ....

it's really easy to demonstrate, i make you a dojo : https://dojo.telerik.com/EJIhohuf

this dojo is actually the editing inline demo (https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/editing-inline) with just the filtering enabled like so :

filterable: {
        mode: "row"
    }

to reproduce :

- apply any kind of filtering

- try to add a new record

- here you see nothing is happening, we expect to see a new empty line to add a new record (also the beforeEdit event is not fired but not sure this is a bug)

- remove the filtering

- you can see the empty lines (if click 5 times on add new record you get 5 empty lines)

Best regards,

you have a great product hope you can improve it even more

Bug report

When a new item is added and the dataSource's sync method is called, the requestEnd event handler data (arg.type) returns the type of request as "read", instead of "create".
As a result the Add new item demo, does not work as expected, because it has a check for the type of the request in the requestEnd handler, and expects the request to be "create". Since the request type comes out as "read" the logic for selecting the newly added item is not executed.

In previous versions the request has been correctly identified as "create". The issue is exhibited only in the MultiSelect. The ComboBox and the DropDownList return the request as "create".

This behavior has been introduced in R3 2017. Reproducible in Chrome, Firefox and Chromium Edge. Not reproducible in IE11 and Spartan Edge.

As a workaround the addNew function can be modified as shown below:

function addNew(widgetId, value) {
    var widget = $("#" + widgetId).getKendoMultiSelect();
    var dataSource = widget.dataSource;

    if (confirm("Are you sure?")) {
        dataSource.add({
            ProductID: 0,
            ProductName: value
        });

        dataSource.one("sync", function() {
          var index = dataSource.view().length - 1;
          var newValue = dataSource.at(index).ProductID;

          widget.value(widget.value().concat([newValue]));
        });

        dataSource.sync();
    }
}

Reproduction of the problem

Dojo example.

  1. Open the browser's console.
  2. Focus the input and type in some random text.
  3. Click the button in the popup to add a new item.
  4. The type of the request returned by the requestEnd event data is logged in the console.

Current behavior

The event data returns "read" as the type of the request.

Expected/desired behavior

The event data returns "create" as the type of the request.

Hi,

There is an accessibility issue regarding MAS 4.2.1 - Object Information.

Using keyboard navigation and screen reader (Windows Narrator),

While the focus is on expanded tree item (with inner children), screen reader should not read all the children information in one go, it should read one by one.

See the attached video.

Can you help please?

Thanks,

Michal.

I'd like to add a "download" option to the context menu, but only for files, not folders.

Here's what I have so far:  https://dojo.telerik.com/@GaloisGirl/iLoHIhoh

According to https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/controls/data-management/filemanager/context-menu:

You can define your custom items which can execute custom commands

However, no option allows me to configure my own commands.

I managed to hack this: https://dojo.telerik.com/@GaloisGirl/iLoHIhoh , but it's an ugly solution.

The defaults for showIcon and showText are undocumented at https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/api/javascript/ui/breadcrumb/configuration/items.showicon and https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/api/javascript/ui/breadcrumb/configuration/items.showtext respectively.

I understand they are true and false respectively when type is "rootitem" and the opposite otherwise.

More sensible defaults would be along the lines of:

showIcon = !!icon

Hi,

I'm using kendo context menu on a grid that's selectable, & contains links in its row items.

I need to show the custom context menu on selected rows only, without losing the browser's default context menu on the other rows, e.g. to allow opening the link in a new page.

I added a context menu & set the target & filter as follows:

$("#context-menu").kendoContextMenu({
        target: "#grid",
        filter: "tr.k-state-selected[role='row']",
        select: function(e) {
          var grid = $("#grid").data("kendoGrid");
          var model = grid.dataItem(e.target);
          alert( model.age + " " + model.name);
        }
      });

This works fine on desktop browsers (I tried Chrome & Firefox). However, I have a problem on touch devices: the browser's default context menu is never shown for non-selected rows (you can reproduce it using the browser's Emulator) .

Here's a working dojo :

http://dojo.telerik.com/oyASaDiN

You will notice that I'm using version 2017.3.1026 in this dojo (which is the version currently used by my company), but even if we consider an upgrade, the problem is also reproducible on the latest version (2019.3.1023).

Please advise,

Hi

In the TreeList control when I Freeze first column and apply multi column header in some other column, then setting the filterable property for a column after multi column header is applied to some other column instead of the column on which it is set.

You can find a working sample here.

In this example note that I have set the filterable property false for field "Phone" but its effect is applied on "Position" field and its filters are hidden. Similarly if you apply filterable: false on "Extention" field then the filter on "Address" field will be gone.

Kindly provide a solution for this problem, also let me know if a work around exists for this issue.

In the DropDownList and ComboBox, virtualization only works when the popup is open. In both widgets, item navigation is functional by pressing down to select the next item in the list without opening the popup. However, when the end of the first page of results is reached, the selection goes back to the top of the first page of results instead of loading the second page via virtualization. This misleads the user in that it only presents a portion of the options available. This is also an issue for disabled users and accessibility.

https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/dropdownlist/virtualization

https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/combobox/virtualization

In both examples, holding down without opening the popup will never load more results.

We have had this issue in the past but it is a bigger issue now that we are focusing more on accessibility since users rely more heavily on keyboard navigation.
