According to

You can define your custom items which can execute custom commands

However, no option allows me to configure my own commands.

I managed to hack this: , but it's an ugly solution.

Creating a new folder

  1. Run sample at   (cloned from , but there's no back-end error there )
  2. Add new folder
  3. Backend returns error (because the relative URLs throw a 404 error there)
  4. Result:
    1. Actual: a new folder is seen in the right pane (regardless if list or grid) but not in the TreeView in the left pane
    2. Expected: state should be consistent between both panes.

Deleting a folder

Fails silently. The folder disappears from both views.

Renaming a folder

The renamed folder is shown as renamed in the TreeView, but the ListView or GridView hangs.

If I'm doing something wrong, an example of proper back-end error handling would be helpful.

The API reference of the is incomplete. For instance: I'm missing the configuration property "collapseIcon".

The "iconPosition" configuration property has no effect. The examples do not show any icons (Chrome):

The filemanager provides no way to open file by keyboard: "enter" renames a file and "space" selects it.

According to files can be opened by double-click.

The views.tree option is undocumented on

The example fails with error:

Error: Error! The requested URL returned 0 - error at line 114

It's also unclear whether "tree" is a 3rd view in parallel to "list" and "grid" as the drop-down on would suggest (and if that is the case, how to enable this as an option in the toolbar) or whether it relates to the treeView of folders on the side.

The defaults for showIcon and showText are undocumented at and respectively.

I understand they are true and false respectively when type is "rootitem" and the opposite otherwise.

More sensible defaults would be along the lines of:

showIcon = !!icon

I'm using kendo context menu on a grid that's selectable, & contains links in its row items.

I need to show the custom context menu on selected rows only, without losing the browser's default context menu on the other rows, e.g. to allow opening the link in a new page.

I added a context menu & set the target & filter as follows:

        target: "#grid",
        filter: "tr.k-state-selected[role='row']",
        select: function(e) {
          var grid = $("#grid").data("kendoGrid");
          var model = grid.dataItem(;
          alert( model.age + " " +;

This works fine on desktop browsers (I tried Chrome & Firefox). However, I have a problem on touch devices: the browser's default context menu is never shown for non-selected rows (you can reproduce it using the browser's Emulator) .

Here's a working dojo :

You will notice that I'm using version 2017.3.1026 in this dojo (which is the version currently used by my company), but even if we consider an upgrade, the problem is also reproducible on the latest version (2019.3.1023).

Please advise,

Since you guys don't seem to have a dedicated place to report bugs in your software.....

Attempting to use the DateTimePicker without supplying something before the Hour in a 24 hour time picker option doesn't work.

    format: 'H:mm'

This fails completely, and instead renders it as if it were 12 hour based. However, putting a single space before this renders properly:

    format: ' H:mm'

However, this also includes the space, which is undesirable.

This does not appear to occur when it is included with a date in any fashion.

I encountered a bug when using the spreadsheet control with a remote datasource which I was able to replicate using the datasource binding demo (

When entering data on an empty cell in an empty row not adjacent to a non-empty row (e.g. a row that is two rows below the end of the data); then editing a cell in the same row, but adjacent column, this creates two items in the corresponding datasource.

Editing an empty row above this new row will modify one of the records created in this process.

We just upgraded our devices to iOS 13 and now sortable component it's not working properly on Safari.

We aren't able to drag the elements properly. We're running v2017.3.1026. Im not sure if upgrading to newer version will solve this problem.

Looking forward for your response.

Thank you!

Sometimes, I need to present a dynamic list bound to a dataSource. I believe ListView is the widget for that.

However, ListView adds role="listbox" to the root element and role="option" to children.

Per , a listbox is a widget that allows to select an item. A non-selectable ListView should have role="list" and its children should have role="listitem".

Hi team,

In kendo spreadsheet if you disable any row by adding enable property to false and apply sort from data tab, then the disable row is changing based on the sort. instead of applying to particular row  it is applying to perticular range and while sorting the row items are changing. The cell properties are not applying there while sorting.

link for example:

please let me know if I am doing anything wrong here.

When using the grid in navigatable mode, cells are correctly described, as seen in line 6014 of kendo.grid.js:

if (navigatable) {
   rowTemplate += ' aria-describedby=\'' + + '\'';

This simple, yet essential functionality is missing in TreeList.

I've implemented the DateRangePicker in our software and I noticed that the selection of the DateRangePicker has a slide different behavior to the Angular DateRangePicker.
This behavior is also reproducible in the demo website.

Select a range. Alter range to the new values. First, update '03-11-2019' -> '04-11-2019'. Second, update '09-11-2019' -> ''

First selection:
Start date: 03-11-2019
End date: 09-11-2019

Now I want to update this range to:

Start date: 04-11-2019
End date: 16-11-2019

Start date: 16-11-2019
End date: null
When I select the start date, it's updated as expected (04-11-2019) but selecting the new end date (16-11-2019), sets the a new start date instead of the end date. As described by the result values.

When attempting to use the filter function on a TreeListDataSource, the linked TreeList control reports that are no records to display regardless of what filter is entered.  This includes attempts to clear/reset the filters using an empty object/null and behaves the same regardless of whether serverFiltering is enabled.

The TreeListDataSource object contains the expected records.

Run dojo at

Current behavior

All three notifications are removed after one second

Expected behavior

The blue notification should be removed after 2 seconds, the orange one after 1 second, the red one never.

The bug only occurs with the appendTo option.

In the showStatic method, we clearly see all displayed notifications are iterated over and being attached the _hideStatic method. In my example:

  1. the blue notification is shown and scheduled to be hidden after 2s
  2. the red notification is shown, none is scheduler do be hidden, because autoHideAfter is 0
  3. the orange notification is shown, and the blue one, the red one, and the orange one are scheduled to be hidden after 1s.

The 2018.1.117 code does not feature this loop and the bug is not present.
