I'd like the ability to choose the behavior of mutli-row selection on a virtual grid with persisted selection.
For purpose of example, assume we have a virtual grid with 50 rows (pager controls not shown), a page size of 10, and persisted selection.
1. Select row 1 on page 1.
2. Scroll down to trigger page 2 to load (rows 11-20).
3. Select row 11, page 2.
4. Current Behavior: Both row 1 and row 11 remain selected.
5. Desired Behavior: Only row 11 remains selected.
Reasoning: I believe that a virtual scrolling grid should have selection behavior identical to a single page. That means that the only way to add rows to the selection is holding down control/shift during selection. In other words, on page 1 of the above example, if I select row 1, then row 2, only row 2 remains selected. If I select row 1, then Ctrl+click/Shift+click row 2, both remain selected. For virtual scrolling where multiple pages are displayed fluidly as if a single page, it seems odd to have the selection behave differently.
As a suggestion from the response that I've got from Ivan Danchev, I'm raising a new feature to enable/disable columns auto-resize in the the treelist of the gantt chart. Currently the columns width is "static" when it is defined in the column configuration. It'll be great if the columns are resized automatically depending on the length of content in the columns.
This is just a general question in relation to Kendo UI. Does the Kendo UI component from the DevCraft susbcription has a wrapper for expressjs/nodejs
If not, there is any plan to add this to the library
When using a grid with locked columns if the unlocked area is scrollable once scrolled horizontally the resize handle keeps it's original absolute positioning and doesn't respect the change in scroll.
When hovering over the edge of the column I can no longer see the resize handle. I can hover to the left where it would have been with no scrolling and then see it.
On DOM inspection I see the event to update the handle's position STILL FIRES when hovering the edge of a column header, but the position is based on scrollLeft() === 0.
I will assume the needed left position for each column is calculated on creation but is not re-calculated for horizontal scroll.
This can be reproduced in the live demos on Telerik's site.
We need the ability to merge grid rows with the same values (see attached). This is a feature our customers have come accustom to with our Windows UI and the Developer Express toolkit. I understand I can manipulate the rowTemplate to achieve similar results but it is my understanding this will cause issues with row selection, editing, etc... Is this something that can be introduced in the future?
1 - when use bootstrap v4 theme, ddl does not handle long names gracefully, please find in attachment example in bootstrap v4 & silver themes, also here are the dojo exaples
2 - for grid and separate controls validation message has diff view
should be the same
I am currently experiencing an issue between the Kendo ContextMenu and the Kendo EditorFor. When I open the ContextMenu inside of the EditorFor it display offset relative to the cursor, both the left and top values are completely incorrect relative to the editor.
Attached you will find a solution where this issue has been replicated, I removed the scripts folder in order to keep the file size small. I hope this can be fixed soon.
1. Open column menu
2. Using arrow keys, go to Filter menu item.
3. Hit right arrow to open Filter submenu
4. Tab through filter submenu
5. Hit escape.
Expected behaviour: Filter submenu closes and focus returns to the parent column menu
Actual behaviour: Both filter and column menu are closed.
This is an issue for accessibility users - there doesn't seem to be a way to return to the parent filter menu using the keyboard without closing all menus and reopening them.
There is one way for it to occur, and that is to use the mouse to place the focus on the Filter menu background - in this case hitting escape will close the Filter menu and focus will be returned to the parent column menu. However this is impractical for an accessibility user who is relying solely on keyboard navigation.
An example of where this (mostly) works is on the Columns submenu - the user can use the left arrow key or Escape to close the child menu or alternatively keep tabbing and they will eventually return to the parent menu (though if they do tab within the child menu, hitting Escape will close both the child and parent menus).
If we make an input readonly it doesn't get validated and wee need it to be validated on a readonly datepicker.
In kend.all.min.js we have
and if i modify it by adding readonly like below
We need to make that code configurable because the workarounds concerining this problem it's buggy.
Fish Bone diagram is a nice feature which is very useful for the applications to provide the root cause analysis in any vertical.
Syncfusion is having a nice in built control to do the same.
A similar feature from Kendo UI is needed to include it in our existing applications.
1)I have configured drop-down(list) for the values in the cell of spread sheet.
2)Scroll bar is not coming in that drop down list.
3)Due to which if list is big ,it is going out of sheet.
4)Please see the screenshot attached to see the issue.
open new window using the button, and close all window one by one, then see that k-overlay is still stay in page
Allow customization of the Validation Tooltip position.
For example, positioning the Tooltip based on the cell, on the input.
In the latest Kendo UI commercial zip, there is a file typescript/kendo.all.d.ts.
In the Grid class, a property is missing : the dataItems function.
You should add the bold line :
dataItem(row: JQuery): kendo.data.ObservableObject;
