Hi,

We use the Conversational UI but need to customize the input area. The changes that we need are not merely cosmetic: for example, we want to replace the existing input with a textarea so that our users can have meaningful conversations and not limit themselves to one-liners.

We saw that you already support templates for messages and attachments: can we have input template support as well?

Thank you,
Mihai

Please provide an option that allows to constrain the movement of the Window component when dragging similar to the Kendo UI for Vue Window:

I would like to show the description of the month above each block that represent the month when using multiple views.

currently the first and last month are shown on the left but when u use 4 or 5 views things get difficult for users to see which month they are looking at.

Current behavior
The grid component already has the functionality to resize and reorder columns by the user, but is missing functionality for saving an restoring columns configuration, so that changes done by the user are lost after a page change.

There is the Persist the State article in the "How to section" in the documentation, but the described solution is only applicable when adding grid columns by using *ngFor. When defining columns in the markup, due to extensive usage of templates (kendoGridColumnMenuTemplate, kendoGridFilterMenuTemplate, kendoGridCellTemplate, ..), there is no reasonable solution available.

Expected behavior
Provide methods, similar to the jQuery grid, to save and restore columns configuration. This should at least include the column's order, width and sort.

PS: This is not a duplicate of the feature request Add persistent state for grid (and other components). The latter one has been marked as "Completed" but does not include the needed functionality.

Hello,

we have the need, to implement custom timeline views for the scheduler which shows a month and quarter timeline view.

This is currently not possible because the TimelineViewModule is not exporting the TimelineMultiDayViewComponent.

We request, to add this component to the exports and provide an updated dev version of the scheduler published to npm so that we can continue soon.

Thank you!

Best regards

Julian Hochstetter

Requesting an enhancement of the "virtualization" functionality for controls like Autocomplete and MultiSelect.  Currently, it only works for local data.   Would like to improve this to work with remote data.  It should raise an event when you're nearing the bottom of a page to load the next page, which would be done via an XHR call.  We have uses of these controls that could possibly bring  back millions of rows, so the current virtualization is of limited value.

You see this kind of "endless scroll" functionality in many places today, like a Facebook feed.

Really would like the Editor component to accept an array of plugins to add to the prose editor. I needed to bring in the mentions plugin so people could @ mention things in the editor. Since I MUST have the custom plugin I couldn't use the kendo-editor component at all and theres so much more in the component that gets thrown away because I can't use the component if I can't give you some prose editor plugins to add.

We could really do with a file explorer, I believe this is already available in your JQuery suite and is planned for .NET Core.

Syncfusion have already implemented an angular file explorer which can use Azure Blob Storage as a backend (though other backends are also available).

In fact the syncfusion file explorer is based on your own component.  After some digging around looking for a similar solution I found their design document for the component which directly refers to the Telerik's own components.  You may want to consider contacting syncfusion on this because it appears to me that they may have breached your copyright.

Currently, the auto resize of the the columns does not take the width of the grid into account. I don't think this is how most users would expect this to work. The autofit of the columns should be able to resize the columns so that they work as best they can within the grid's bounds.

Now, when I autofit my columns, the first thing I have to do is resize the columns manually so I can see the whole row on the screen. Since I end up resizing the columns manually anyway, autofit ends up not really helping me much.

Some toolkits I have used have a resize mode for a table which determines whether or not all columns are to always be visible or not. If all the columns are to always be visible, resizing one column needs to resize the others so that everything still fits. This "mode" could determine which algorithm autofit should use

I need to insert custom html to editor component.

I would like to add custom button which triggers popup with text area. Entered text should then be inserted where current focus is inside <code> tag.

As I see it, this can be done in 2 ways:

  • add another editor command insertHtml (current are bold, insertUnorderedList, createLink, insertFile, ... , fontSize, setHTML)
    This would probably required more time, but would support practically any html code in editor.
  • add support for <code> tag to format command (currently supported are: p, blockquote, h1-h6)
    This would required a lot less time to implement then the first suggestion, but it adds only one feature to editor.
    This feature would be enough for me.

All information was copied from docs.

Add the Select Event of the Context-Menu on Item Level:

Example:

<kendo-contextmenu [target]="target" showOn="click" (select)="handleSelection($event)">
          <kendo-menu-item text="download" icon="k-icon k-i-download" (select)="uploadClick()">
          </kendo-menu-item>
          <kendo-menu-item text="upload" icon="k-icon k-i-download" (select)="downloadClick()">
          </kendo-menu-item>
</kendo-contextmenu>

If there would be a "Select" event on the "kendo-menu-item" Component, there would no need for extra code to call the desired function.

At the moment, a handleSelction-function is needed to check the selected item and call the desired action. The (select) on the item does nothing.

  public uploadClick(){
    alert('upload');
  }

  public downloadClick() {
    alert('download');
  }

  public handleSelection(event: ContextMenuSelectEvent) {
    if (event) {
      if(event.index === "0"){
        this.downloadClick();
      }
      else {
        this.uploadClick();
      }
    }
  }
With that feature, i can remove the handleSelection function and call the Upload/Download directly.

Hi there,

Currently the scheduler lacks built in capabilities to handle holidays or, disabling arbitrary days.

The idea is to provide an array of holidays (date and title for example) and have the scheduler automatically disable this dates and properly highlight them in all views so the user is aware he/she can't create events in those.

There is a dearth of browser inline editors for Word documents.  It appears that the only viable solution currently out there is to implement WOPI and this standard is complex, poorly documented and extremely difficult to implement.  There are some alternatives out there:

The former is incredibly expensive because it charges per API call (effectively charging each time a document is opened or edited) and the latter is overly complex and for Linux users.

A further alternative is syncfusion's document editor.  This editor is good but loses formatting.

Surely it would be possible to unravel Word's open xml format and load it into a modified version of the Rich text Editor?
