Sometimes we're using kendo sortable to sort "panels" containing form elements.

Examples:

  • Sortable item with "delete" button
  • Sortable item with "enabled" checkbox

Problem:

The sortable will "catch" the mousdown/pointerdown events and form elements on draggable items will not work.

Solution:

We have to listen in a div for those events and stop propagation.

.. but that needs additional code in template and component. We've created a small directive to do that, but that's an additional module we have to include in each feature module (and we have to remember that it exists, and what was the name, …)

Feature request:

Add a directive to sortable module that allows us to exclude areas inside of sortable items from being draggable to make (form) element work in these areas.

---

import { Directive, ElementRef, OnInit, Renderer2, AfterViewInit } from '@angular/core';

@Directive({
    selector: '[draggableExclude]'
})
export class DraggableExcludeDirective implements AfterViewInit {

    constructor(
        private _elemRef: ElementRef,
        private _renderer: Renderer2,
    ) { }

    ngAfterViewInit() {
        this._renderer.listen(this._elemRef, 'mousedown', (e: MouseEvent) => e.stopPropagation());
        this._renderer.listen(this._elemRef, 'pointerdown', (e: MouseEvent) => e.stopPropagation());
    }
}

Note: Touch is not handled.

… and how we use it

                    <kendo-sortable  … >
                        <ng-template let-attribute="item">
                            <div class="details">
                                {{ attribute.name }}
                            </div>
                            <div draggableExclude>
                                <button kendoButton look="bare" type="button"
                                    (click)="requestDeleteAttribute(attribute)" icon="delete"></button>
                            </div>
                        </ng-template>
                    </kendo-sortable>

Hi,

We really like the Kendo for Angular suite. We were trying to see if the kendo-stockchart could fit our needs with some customization. But this might be difficult to achieve.

We are looking for rendering multiple items within a horizontal timeline.

Unfortunately, we didn't find a good component yet that provides what we are looking for.

Here an example of the kind of functionalities we are interested in.

http://www.simile-widgets.org/timeline/

Is there any plan to provide such component in the near future? or perhaps there is a way we can customize the Kendo chart to do a similar.

Thanks.

-Patrick

Hello, How can I have floating label with some style applied like this:

<label>Name <span class="k-required">*</span></label>

In this example, https://stackblitz.com/edit/angular-q2kehs?file=app/app.component.ts, how can I transform the label to use floating label?

Thanks

Hi,

Many of my users complain that when clicking the the time component in the "empty" space, the focus is automatically set to the minutes area.

See image for example (clicking where the arrow is pointing).

This is very confusing for them and causes them to make a lot of mistakes.

Is it possible to disable this behavior?

Thanks,

Shahar

It would be necessary to have popupSettings binding for Menu component similar to those in Dropdowns.

When we have more menu items than that can be displayed in a single line in the browser window, the menu will span multiple lines.

Can we have the menu items automatically collapsed to '...' button so that they can fit in a single line and when user clicks on the '...' button, they can see those items that cannot fit in the current line.

Currently the default height of a slot in day and weekview is pretty large. I would like to adjust the slot height to a custom size.

The ability to to drag and drop a event into and out of the scheduler control is required.

This would allow for more complex UI's allowing users to drag from multiple scheduler or from other controls

The dropdowns should provide an easy way to have certain items in the list as inactive. The easiest way could be an attribute. In addition to [textField] and [valueField] an [inactiveField] could be added.

If the assigned data field is a boolean the item in the list can be either enabled or disabled.

Reason for this request is, that those value lists often are dynamic, meaning that an item in the list could be superseded by a new one. But the existing records in the database still could reference the older item, but new records should be prevented from selecting the new item.

In the example below "X-Small" is initially the selected item in the dropdown.  Once you click the "Sort" button and sort the array, "2X-Large" becomes the highlighted item in the dropdown but "X-Small" is displayed.  I would expect that "X-Small" would be highlighted.  After opening and closing the dropdown "2x-Large" becomes the selected item even if you don't select it.  The same behavior does not happen with a simple select dropdown.

import { Component, OnInit } from '@angular/core';

@Component({
  selector: 'my-app',
  template: `
  <form>
    <div>
      <p>T-shirt size:</p>
      <kendo-dropdownlist [data]="listItems" [(ngModel)]="selectedShirt" name="shirtsize">
      </kendo-dropdownlist>
    </div>
    <br/>
    <div>
    <select [(ngModel)]="selectedShirt" name="shirtsize2">
      <option *ngFor="let d of listItems">{{d}}</option>
    </select>
    </div>
    <br/>
    <button (click)="sortArray()">Sort</button>
  </form>
  `
})
export class AppComponent implements OnInit {
    public listItems: Array<string> = ["X-Small", "Small", "Medium", "Large", "X-Large", "2X-Large"];
    public selectedShirt: string;
    ngOnInit(){
      this.selectedShirt = this.listItems[0];
    }

    sortArray(){
      this.listItems.sort((a, b) => a.localeCompare(b));
    }
}

Provide a way to easily clear the selected values from a multiselect. Similar functionality can be achieved by achieved by setting the value of the multiselect to an empty array, however this does not deselect the items in the dropdown portion of the multiselect, and the items must be clicked twice to reselect them. The clear should function the exact same as the built in clear button.

Like in the other scheduler components it would be very nice to highlight the hoverd timeslot and show the start time of the slot when hovering

I would be nice to highlight the currently selected event. As in the example below the selected event has a purple border

The Data Query toODataString function currently treats GUIDs as strings, as there is no built-in JavaScript mechanic to distinguish between the two types.

The toODataString function should return a proper formatted OData query string, and a possible solution could be to have a boolean property on the FilterDescriptor to indicate the filter field is to be treated as a GUID, similar to the ignoreCase property that exists now.

Hi,

I was going through Treeview in angular 5.
What I feel lacking in Treeview is search functionality.

I would be very thankful if you can provide search functionality.

Thanks

It should be possible to disable the user input on the Datepicker and the calendar pop-up only shows up if the user clicked on the "calendar button".

It would be very nice to have the option to make events show 100% of the available with instead of the open space at the right side.
