It would be great if there was some way to customize the complete look and feel of the splitter control.

I would think this would be possible via a custom template, similar to how one does a cell template for the grid control.

The manner in which the Kendo Grid handles multiple column sorting is unusual and therefore not what a user would expect.

I believe that people expect that the column they click on to always be the primary sort column.  In the Kendo grid, (when in multi-column mode) this is not the case.

If I click on the "Unit Price" column header, and then on "Product Name", nothing happens.  Instead, clicking on "Unit Price" a second time sorts the table by "Product Name".  This is not natural.

Instead, this should simply behave like a non-destructive sort.  If I click on "Unit Price" and it sorts by that.  Then, clicking on "Product Name" should sort everything by Product Name and, if the names are the same, the items would be sub-sorted by the previously selected column: "Unit Price"

I would further ask that the only column that shows the arrow be the primary sort column.  Users want to see what the primary sort column is, and not be confused by the other columns, which they will assume are sorted in a reasonable way.  The indices help, but I still think that a single arrow denoting the primary sort column would be preferred.

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/grid/sorting/

To be backwards compatible, maybe introduce a 'natural' sort mode which would behave in this manner, since I really believe that this is what a user expect.

As a workaround, we put the grid in 'single' mode, and then when the sort changes, we do the following.  I limit the number of SortDescriptors to 3 as a compromise between sorting the columns in a reasonable way and yet prevent there from being too many arrows

public autoSortChange(sorts: SortDescriptor[]) {
   let singleSortKey = sorts[0];
   let newSort: SortDescriptor[] = [];
   newSort[0] = singleSortKey;
   this.internalSortDescriptors = this.internalSortDescriptors.filter(des => des.field !== singleSortKey.field)

   newSort = sorts.concat(this.internalSortDescriptors)

   this.internalSortDescriptors = Array.from(newSort);
   if (this.internalSortDescriptors.length > 2) {
    this.internalSortDescriptors.length = 2;
   }
   this.gridState.sort = newSort;
   this.gridData = ...
}

We would like to use the Angular DatePicker with Fast Navigation Bar style and would like to change the height and width of the monthly view to expand to the size of the device and show multiple months.

https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/dateinputs/datepicker/sidebar/

After communicating with support we learned this was not currently possible so we are requesting it be added as a feature.

This is going into a mobile application and we would like to use all of the screen to display a calendar control. If it helps to understand conceptually, it would be similar to the Apple Calendar, on Apple Devices, with a few differences but having the months span the entire screen.

We are looking for a calendar control to work in a mobile app written with Angular and using Cordova to deploy as a native application. Since it's a mobile app, it will need to work on a variety of different devices and we want the user experience to be the same for all.

We are implementing something similar to the Apple Calendar. It will have a weekly view at the time, implemented with an in-house control, and clicking on the Month's Name in the top left will open the monthly view which is where we were hoping to use the Telerik control.

We would like the calendar view to fit to the viewport so you do not see any of the app behind the calendar. If in Portrait view, it should be responsive in width but not display any additional data. It's height should expand to see additional weeks, or months if there's enough room.

We don't know exactly what we'll do for Landscape view yet. One thought is that it should be responsive in height but not display more than one month vertically. It should expand in width displaying additional months if the entire month can fit in the viewport. The latter scenario is open to design changes. It could also be implemented similarly to Landscape view.

I would like to be able to render the selected item for a ComboBox with a template which could be called kendoComboBoxTagTemplate so that I can render it as a hyperlink. This feature would provide similar functionality to the MultiSelect kendoMultiSelectTagTemplate.

I had considered doing a bit of a hack by using the MultiSelect and only allowing a single selection but this is nasty as you will still get the selected value as an item in an array. It would be much better if the tag template functionality was provided for ComboBox.

Would like the ability to programmatically expand or collapse all groups for all rows in the grid.  Without having the need to iterate across all rows.

Is there any way to set error focus on the selected items in multi select component.
And after that, user can take immediate action to update the value, say auto Open the drop down dialog and go to the selected item.

If a DatePicker input is set to not required and a user enters an incomplete date like 05/day/2018, the component does not recognize the value and the input is null. This behaviour is ok, the problem is, that no validation is triggered.
In such a case, a validation error should be thrown such as "incomplete date" or "invalid", but nothing happens. To allow the form validation of an incomplete date, such a validation is needed.

Make the TabStrip component scrollable, like the counterpart (http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/tabstrip/scrollable-tabs) in Kendo UI for JQuery is.

Enabling Shift-key zooming in the stockChart produces an exception when the user Zooms.

I was told by T. Tsonev that this feature is not supported in the stockChart.

Here is a example:

Hi,

It would be great to have audio input button for the conversational UI. That would allow user to speak his utterance and then the component should be able to provide the audio input as a inputStream in PCM or Opus audio format.

That way will be possible to integrate the same with any provider.

Hello

Below are some features we would like to have

Optionally remove the date input mask, so user will be able to type the date as free text field
- But when invalid, should change to previous value on blur
- Also to navigate out of datepickers user have to press tab multiple times
- Copy paste date should work as in free text field
- Select full date by mouse double click to copy
- User is responsible to copy date in proper format to work, or it should fall back to previous value

Next previous option in calendar view
- Next previous button in the calendar view instead of left navigation section

As we had discussed to be in feature request at: https://www.telerik.com/account/support-tickets/view-ticket/1388872

We already have similar feature requested as we know: https://feedback.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/1384025-cannot-copy-paste-date-between-2-datepickers

Thank you
Best regards
Mahavir

I would like to allow users to sort single and multiple at the same time.

This could be achieved by adding another option to SortSettings: Single | Multiple | SingleShiftMultiple. The name is not the best proposal, but describes desired behaviour:

By default when user click column, previous sort is cleared and new is applied. But if user holds down shift key, new sort is added to SortDescriptor[] (current behaviour for multiple).

Cannot copy-paste date between 2 datepickers. Found issues:

  • Cannot select whole date by mouse. Now it's reset to select only one date part by mouse. Current workaround: clicking Ctrl+A with keyboard.
  • Similar: I think selecting whole date should be a default behavior when I click datepicker by mouse, because after keyboard navigation by TAB  the whole date is selected by default. No selection after clicking is also applicable (as it's done for standard input type="text").
  • Similar: cannot select whole date by mouse with double click (expected behavior for inputs).
  • Related issue: navigating by TAB across datepickers is too long. Because date parts are also "navigated". E.g. to navigate by TAB between 2 datepcikers I need to press TAB 4 times! If I have more datepickers, navigation is too annoying.
  • Minor: cannot drag&drop dates between datepickers.

Can be reproduced in any Kendo example (and browser) on the documentation site.

Hello Team,

When in Kendo-Grid for Angular there more columns then that fits in the page, we get a horizontal scroll.

If i apply reordering of columns and try to move one to any direction.

1. If the columns need to be moved on same visible section, it does moves perfectly.

2. but if i want to move something beyond the visible section, i can't as the scrolling does not work automatically, either i need to use Keyboard to move scroll bar which in case users needs to be trained or is not user friendly or i need to it in parts.

Please help us to include feature to auto scroll when we move columns

Thanks

I need to expand/collapse grid rows programmatically. I know about grid.expandRow/collapseRow, but there is no public methods which can get me know  is row expanded at this moment and collapse it. I need to manage in component array of expanded rowIndexes and every time to check is row expanded,then call method collapseRow, which again, under hood, using your private method this.detailsService.isExpanded(index), is doing this check. It's very inconvenient.  So, can you expose this methods or toggleRow() to allow us get rid of additional logic around? Or, possibly, you know other way to get this info directly from grid?

Just a notice for you. On page https://www.telerik.com/kendo-angular-ui/components/menus/ the last code example imports MenuModule and ContextMenuModule from @progress/kendo-angular-charts but it should be @progress/kendo-angular-menu instead.
