Forms are what we use every day and if there's a form, we often have to validate the input and show the validation results to the user.

Problems:

  • The way to do this today with angular requires a lot of code (see https://angular.io/guide/form-validation for examples)
  • In many cases we have to handle and show the same validation errors over and over again. E.g. "this field is required"

Opportunity:

  • The way validation errors are shown is similar in most applications and can be easily adjusted using simple CSS.
  • Common validation error messages should be ok for many applications.

Feature request:

  • Add a component to easily display validation errors of form components.
  • Add global validation settings to customize standard error messages and behavior.

Example:

// global setup
validationService.configure({ showIf: 'touchedOrDirty', messages: { required: "This field is required', customKey: 'This field needs ... ', customKey2: errorMessageForCustomKey2Fn }); // callback to generated error message for customKey2 function errorMessageForCustomKey2Fn(control: FormControl) => return `can include 'but is ... ' from form control`; // HTML in component template <input formControlName="myinput" ... /> <validation-errors forControlName="myinput"> // < should handle all globally registered errors without additional code. <error key="keyOfValidatorOnlyUsedHere">Sorry, but you have to</error> </validation-errors>

I think such a feature could massively reduce the work to setup forms.

I should be able to connect to Amazon AWS Lex from the Kendo conversational UI .

Also suggest that you provide a bridge design patterns type custom integration capability with any backend NLP providers.

Today the checkbox styles work only if we place the label behind the input and connect them use id + for attribute:

        <input type="checkbox" id="ch1" class="k-checkbox" checked />
        <label class="k-checkbox-label" for="ch1">Checkbox 1</label>

Problem:

While it works most times, it quite difficult to ensure a unique id inside an angular component. We have to ensure, it's unique over all currently rendered components.

A clean solution would require something like this:

// MyComponent
let componentIndex = 0;

class MyComponent {
  checkboxId: `my-component-${componentIndex++}-checkbox`;
}

// Template
        <input type="checkbox" [id]="checkboxId" class="k-checkbox" checked />
        <label class="k-checkbox-label" [for]="checkboxId">Checkbox 1</label>

Feature request:

Support implicit label association like so:

<label class="k-checkbox"><input type="checkbox" /> My label</label>

Scrolling like this : http://legacy.datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/basic_init/scroll_y_infinite.html

Say you have 100.000+ rows of data.
With classic or virtual scrolling, you allow your user to go to the last page very easily. It ends up with huge skip parameter, and disastrous load times from the DB.

You don't want users to be able to run queries which are at the same time useless and very time-consuming server-side.

What you really want is for your user to be able to browse a bit of the data with fast queries, and if he wants something else, he should filter data.

Infinite scrolling gives him just that feeling.

It would be nice if Calendar Component can support same multiple selection functionality as Telerik MVC Calendar.

That includes:

  • Week Selection
  • Select with CTRL key
  • Range select with SHIFT key

Currently there is no way to provide a component from a lazy-loaded module as content in the Dialog Service.

We need a way to pass in the correct injector/componentFactoryResolver to use to load the component with.

Further discussion and possible solution are available in the following Angular GitHub threads:

https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/14324

https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/17168

I requested help in the Forum for an example of using JSDO in a Service under Angular for my grid.component.ts

https://www.telerik.com/forums/angular-7-kendo-grid-using-jsdo-service-component

Svetlin stated thet "Indeed, currently we do not have an example dedicated on the use of CRUD operations with JSDO. If you have the time, please submit a new feature request in our UserVoice portal, which will help us to evaluate the demand for such example and implement it in the future. "

Please look into building some sample source for an Angular / JSDO Service component.

Thanks

Provide a class input property, or a similar approach, for the TabStripTab component, that will help us to add and remove a custom CSS class based on a condition.

Hi,

We encountered a problem when using kendo-sortable component in IE11. If we use this component anywhere on the page, all input fields on the page become unclickable. It seems to happen in the last version of this control (maybe because of a global click event listener? )

Hope you can help with this issue.

You can check out the following Stackblitz example which is based on your basic usage example: https://angular-t7vi5k.stackblitz.io/

Thanks in advance and happy holidays,

Shai Aharoni

The component feature set will be based on what the jQuery Scheduler widget offers:

Currently in the Grid, the GroupHeaderTemplate can create just one cell. I'd prefer to have option to have columns in the group header like it is implemented in the jQuery Grid. Check it here https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/aggregates
This option will be handy for displaying aggregates in a group header.

I want to filter the scheduler data but I had to add the OwnerId property to the node package interface in order to be able to do so... yet the sample data provided in the examples does include the ownerId, so im guessing all that needs to be done is to add it to the interface.

On grid with 50 rows and 100 columns, autoFitColumns method freezes browser and annoying "Page unresponsive" is shown to the user. Please make function responsive.

Based on high Chrome CPU usage I think method could be ran in background thread. Probably Web workers would be appropriate for this task. This may help.

When assigning data to a grid dynamically (ie: not specific columns to a grid) the Grid Columns should autosize to the width of the headers. Currently the only workaround is to use grid.AutoFitColumns() and wrap it in a timeout function. This causes erratic jumps in grid rendering and looks unprofessional.

Users should have the option to set gridColumnAutosize = true in the grid component. Then if users dynamically assign the grid data source without explicitly assigning columns then the grid columns will autosize to the width of the column header name.

Here is an example of the grid trying to squeeze in all data into the visible area. When it should autosize and create a scrollbar for anything that cannot fit on the page.

Hi,

I am currently using the Conversational UI component as my app's chatbot.

I have implemented something custom so that the chat is not always rendered, but it is not actually the desired result. Looking at the Conversational UI's API page, if I'm not wrong, I couldn't find anything like that (for instance, any "closable" property or anything similar to that).

Is there any way to have something like a proper "chat button" in order to show/hide the chat (or at least have just a X icon-button inside the chat to be able to close it)?

Thank you.

Kind Regards,

Yannis
