The current [maxlength] property just sets a control as Invalid if maxlength is exceeded. But I'd prefer an option to just limit the number of characters the end user can enter, much like the maxlength property of <input>. This should apply to all Kendo controls where user can type in text.
The current design of the DropDownList is not in line with Bootstrap. The dark background is very "aggressive" and distracts the user in a large form. The styling should match the bootstrap design (of course in the Bootstrap Theme) or there should be an option to switch between your current and the "official" bootstrap design.
The normal DropDown with its feautures would allow do multiselect its items or if the standard Multiselect would allow to avoid the linebreaks. A possible solution would be to add only one label with the text of the selected Items and an ellipsis when there get selected too many items to show all text, then you show the text hole text in the tooltip. https://github.com/telerik/kendo-angular2/issues/160
I have a usecase where the initial selected item is no longer present in the choices. With the current behavior, the initial value is not displayed and the dropdown is empty. Would it be possible to display the initial value with a 'disabled' css class in the dropdown? Same for multiselects, etc.
Autocomplete SelectedItem template The ItemTemplate allows for an informative list of values to be displayed to the user for selection. For example an employee may be displayed as [first name last name (EmployeeNo)] However when an item is selected from the list the autocomplete only shows the bound value (e.g. EmployeeNo). It would be good if the selected item in the autocomplete control could be customised to be either: - the same as the ItemTemlate - customized via it's own SelectedItem template For anything other than simple scenarios the usability of this control suffers without this feature.
Disable individual choices from deletion on multi-select in case there is a value that must always be selected.
When ComboBox popup is closed and the cursor is in the input field, you can use arrow up and down to select next/prev item in the list. Allow the use the mouse wheel to do that (only when combobox has focus)
