Thanks for the due diligence.  I can see how this could be used as a solution but it's effectively a bit of a bodge.  The user loses the essential ability for pagination and editable/non-editable areas (amongst a whole host of other features).  In a document management solution, these are fairly essential.  The key for me is to allow users to edit documents that they are familiar with.  I worked with WOPI for two months before throwing the entire work effort out the window.

I enjoy working with Kendo products and have been doing so for over ten years although I have never liked your approach to responsive design - I think this is a hangover from selecting a different container model to Bootstrap (I seem to remember this from a long time ago).  To this end, I was hoping that your Angular component set might be written from the bottom up with a different design approach but it appears not. Anyway, I diverge.

Bringing the Docx document into the editor would be a great option if it displayed it as a page with editable regions and pagination.  As far as I can see Syncfusion is well behind Progress in terms of the overall offering and support but in this one component they are well ahead.  Their approach is to mirror the OpenXML format of Word with their own .sfdt format and deliver that to be edited inside a component which is obviously a variation of their own editor.  That's the way forward for Progress, along with a big marketing message to the developer community saying "Your WOPI woes are over....".  I personally deliver these documents from blob storage and mirror the results on my customers' local file server with a simple Powershell command, that way they have a local copy of all the document collection as a backup for disaster recovery.

It's a learning curve with Syncfusion, one which I didn't want to have to undertake.  But that's the way I have to go whilst Progress has no document editor.  Strange really when you are so close with your editor and WordsProcessor library and offer a spreadsheet in almost every flavor.  WOPI's a real pain and impossible to implement and a document editor would really shake things up...

In my humble opinion.

The individual items in a Kendo Dropdown List don't send mouseover events when hovered over: only the input box that shows the selected value will trigger mouseover events. This prevents tooltips from showing on the items.

Our product management would like to make the input field of the Conversational UI a multi-line field so agents can see several sentences of what they are typing and scroll vertically rather than horizontally.  We have tried many CSS settings but can't seem to affect the height of this embedded field.

After contacting support, I was told that the desired behavior cannot be achieved with the currently rendered DOM of the Conversational UI component. The input element should be replaced with a textarea in order to allow wrapping its value on multiple lines.

Please consider adding this feature to your roadmap.

I think could be really useful to add pager component. It could be just same pager component used intrnally by grid. So easy development step i guess!

Hello, I am trying to use the table-related toolbar tools in my editor. I am getting the compiler.js:2175 Uncaught Error: Template parse errors:
'kendo-editor-insert-table-button' is not a known element:
1. If 'kendo-editor-insert-table-button' is an Angular component, then verify that it is part of this module.
2. If 'kendo-editor-insert-table-button' is a Web Component then add 'CUSTOM_ELEMENTS_SCHEMA' to the '@NgModule.schemas' of this component to suppress this message. ("               <!-- Kendo Built-In Toolbar tools not working correctly -->.

I have not had an issue with any other toolbar tools.

We are planning on using Angular 8 and Kendo UI for Angular for a major refactor project that currently utilizes RadRichTextBox for Silverlight.

We would like to utilize the Kendo UI for Angular Editor component.

The feature set our business users require and that is in RadRichTextBox  we are currently using are:

  • API to allow injecting contents into the current document in the editor at certain places by using bookmarks.
  • The ability to save and load a saved file into the editor.
  • Page Header and Footer
  • Page Break
  • Mail Merge
  • Drag and Drop Content from List
  • Printing/Print Preview
  • Import/Export

We understand that some of these features are not currently implemented in the new component.

The roadmap on the Telerik website shows that additional functionalities are scheduled to be added to Kendo UI for Angular by September 18, 2019. Our question is if any of these things are planned to be added to Kendo UI for Angular and if so when? Or if there is another route involving Telerik you might suggest for incorporating these functionalities into an Angular 8+ project?

Thanks

-Nhan

Kendo UI for Angular and Kendo UI for jQuery complete package (all components, css, js) downloadable at once with documentation. Just the way how it was for old (ex: Kendo UI jQuery 2005) versions. No individual component download.

Reproduction

We got the feedback that in some scenarios it might be more intuitive to open the editor row below the last row since the user expects to "append" new rows at the end.

Consider the possibility of leveraging reusable HTML components with Kendo Angular or any other Kendo toolset:

Placeholder for dropdownlist could be a great thing, because defaultItem not have the same use. I just want to show text when nothing is select, but I do not want that the dropdownlist have nothing selected (or the defaultItem) when we have already selected an item. The defaultItem can be selected again and it is not the same use of placeholder.

Thanks for reading.

Is there a plan to release Diagram component for Angular? I am looking at converting Silverlight application into Angular that used the diagram compoment. Diagram is missing. I can see other third-party vendor providing this component.

Provide a way to easily clear the selected values from a multiselect. Similar functionality can be achieved by achieved by setting the value of the multiselect to an empty array, however this does not deselect the items in the dropdown portion of the multiselect, and the items must be clicked twice to reselect them. The clear should function the exact same as the built in clear button.
