Default Install Fiddler for All Users

Would really appreciate a proper machine based installation again, user-based installs are difficult to manage in corporate/enterprise environments & the psuedo machine install of redirecting install folder & creating new shortcuts isn't great, especially if as you mention yourself extensions wont work.

I understand the advantage of not needing admin rights to install programs, but surely most of the targeted audience for this application would either A) have admin rights, or B) be in a managed environment with deployment software in use (and potentially white-listing/App Control software preventing unauthorized apps to run anyway)

Hi Simón,

Thank you for the feedback. At this time, the only workaround is to run the silent installation as described below.

Rest assured we do monitor the Feature Request portal and take the community's priorities into consideration during planning.

I am glad to see that you have cast your vote for this feature. I encourage following it to receive future updates as well.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you.

I find it really silly (if not saying anything that could offend anyone) that the installer does not ask before doing this stupid thing.

Hopefully this annoyance is going to be tackled soon as it's the second most voted unplanned issue for some time already, and even more poular than anything currently in development.

Hi Mihai,

Thank you for your feature request. At this time, the workaround for this is as follows.

1. Run silent installation with the following arguments:

FiddlerSetup.exe /S /D=%ProgramFiles%\Fiddler

2. Execute:

COPY %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Fiddler 4.lnk %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
COPY %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Fiddler ScriptEditor.lnk %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Note that the user must have administrator privileges to do this and this is not how Fiddler normally works. This may cause some limitations. For example, the separate users may have problems installing different Fiddler extensions.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you.
