Hi there,

I've successfully setup fiddler-everywhere 0.4.0 and am able to sniff traffic to various websites on my linux (Ubuntu 18.04) laptop. However some https sites are not working - fiddler-everywhere severs the connection at the SSL handshake phase. These same sites work in the windows version of Fiddler (v 5.0.20192.25091 - built 04 June 2019) however.

What is the status of the SSL support in fiddler-everywhere vs windows Fiddler?

Example site that fails over https:

I've downloaded the latest 0.4.0 Fiddler Everywhere. When I run it I get an error - "A JavaScript error occurred in the main process". This occurs every time I launch the app. However it appears to run normally after I dismiss the error dialog.

I'm running Ubuntu 18.0.4:

lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic

I fire up Fiddler Everywhere on my Mac. Generally, it appears to do nothing.

In further detail, "Stream" and "Decode" can be toggled, but otherwise do nothing. The connections icon has a hover-over describing my host and states I have a network connection. The help icon goes to the very limited documentation via browser. The settings icon pops open the settings dialog, which does appear to save changes, but not impact the "nothing" being done by the application. The capture button and inspectors button appear to do nothing. The main viewing area states "No records available." The area to the right of the main area states "Please, select a single Web Session to inspect." And that is it.

Either I'm doing (or not doing) something dumb, or it just isn't working for me. Any help would be appreciated :)

Mac specs: High Sierra 10.13.6, 2.6GHz i7, 16 GB memory

I would like to be able to configure the following values via command line in the Mac version of Fiddler Everywhere:

In Preferences:

  • Decrypt HTTPS traffic (under HTTPS)
  • Fiddler listens on port: #### (under Connections)
  • Act as system proxy on startup (under Connections)
  • Manual Proxy configuration (under Gateway)

The best way that I've seen this implemented is in Chrome.

Chrome's settings are by default stored in a JSON file, but a Mac administrator can configure settings using MacOS's built-in preference system (either via the command `defaults write` or using a config profile) which will then enforce the settings.

In the meantime, if there's a text file I can edit, I'd love to do that.

I'm so excited to see you working on a cross-platform version.  Your MacOs version was never really usable.  Everywhere is already better than the Mac version was!

Edit and resend requests,  Compose from scratch and send requests.

I mainly use Fiddler for WebApi testing, debugging, monitoring.  The ability to capture, modify, and resend a request is a key feature for me.

It would be great to have the same inspectors found in the Windows version.

I would like the ability to mark/highlight selected requests so I can better keep track of them and to increase legibility when sharing with others.

Filtering traffic as in older Fiddler version for Windows in Fidder-Everywhere for Mac based OS systems.

This is a well required feature for working with fiddler

In fiddler for windows I can select if I capture just browser traffic, other traffic, or both.  It would be great to have this in fiddler everwhere as well. (does it even capture non-browser traffic yet? If not obviously that would be needed first).

This is the most common feature I use to communicate with others on my team the status of our Xbox apps and is very handy for the distributed teams I work with.

Currently, in Fiddler Everywhere Mac you only see raw JSON response from REST API. It would be nice to have an Inspector to show the JSON in a tree format.

In Fiddler (and in applications such as Wireshark) it's easy to collapse / switch between different protocols, headers and such.

In the Fiddler everywhere version - you get the entire request/response as a single text block.

It would be great to switch between protocols / collapse the parts you care less about and in general have better controls.

Im using MacOS Sierra 10.12.5

2 BIG Issues are present.

First of all, I don't have an INTERNET connection any more after closing FIDDLER it has to be always running!

Second issue Fiddler is working properly ONLY on the first Start. If  closing it and opening it again it's not working at all.

very very critical
