When typing in a text control it would be nice to have auto-complete based on some predefined values. In my example we have a list of names setup against a handle like @johnsmith. If typing in the textbox when a person types a @name it would check against the available names and validate, if invalid they would be presented a list to pick the correct name (like how spell check works) This was brought up in a support ticket, notes below: Do have the following in mind: * implementing the simplest case e.g. @mentions will simply not do. there are tons of other completes that can be done e.g. #hashes, :emoji and so on * developers will need to verify that tokens are indeed valid and what to do with invalid tokens e.g. if I type @nosuchuser and there isn't such user, should the token be left literal or should it be processed like the rest? * there should be a way to specify the data source location for those completes... Perhaps more. But the most important part was the emphasis on the token validation and data source. Apart from that the logic is fairly simple: a textbox with events for keypress. As soon as a trigger key is pressed the autocomplete part pops and the user either selects a value from a list or types one. The "rich" value is saved in a hidden field. If the value happens to be a valid one, it has special formatting (because at the end we are submitting the rich value).
Request new properties for the RadDockZone to allow the display of a message, image, or style when no docks are present in the zone along the lines of the EmptyMessage property of the RadInput control. The properties could be: "EmptyZoneMessage", "EmptyZoneImage" and "EmptyZoneCssClass". See the following thread from 2010 where a solution to this was discussed: http://www.telerik.com/forums/empty-raddockzone-message
When placing text, clicking on the image should set the coordinates in the text dialog as long as the dialog is open. Moving the location for the text block being placed to that location. This is a problem when the default coordinate position is not currently visible on the image because the text block is not visible either. So the user can't move it or even know that it's there. And it's ridiculous to expect a user to enter a pixel coordinate value just to drop some text. I would suggest that coordinates shouldn't be shown in the text dialog by default, and that the starting position should default to something like the middle of the visible area of the image.
It will be possible to specify an ItemTemplate for RadRotator that loads its items on demand.
If a combobox uses load-on-demand and an item is selected, after postback the item list will be filtered to only items that contain the text of the selected item. This type of filtered loading is desirable when the user is typing into the combobox and is expecting a reduced item list. However it can be unexpected behavior if an item is selected, the user was not typing into the combobox, a postback occurs, and then the item list has been reduced. This video demonstrates the current behavior: http://screencast.com/t/NVkDc3KYR And so my request is for the combobox items list to remain the same after postback when the user did not intend for the item list to be reduced.
Similar to the rdpNumPart class on RadDataPagerButtonField, the addition of a default class to the template field would allow for easier targeting of this area while custom skinning the DataPager. On a large scale, it's much cleaner than adding your own wrapper divs within the template field.
You have very useful property - EnableTimeIndependentFiltering for GridDateTimeColumn. But I need to use ItemTemplate and EditItemTemplate and this future missing in GridTemplateColumn. I try to use FilterTemplate with RadDatePicker, but then I have only "equal to" option for filtering. I don't want this. So my suggestion to you is to develop EnableTimeIndependentFiltering for the cases when user have to use GridTemplateColumn with DataType=System.DateTime.
For large directories we would like to set the initial sort order to descending so we could see the newest files first. Other times we would like to have the initial sort be by filename descending. We want to set this declaratively on the control or in the .net code behind on initial page load.
Please consider adding Rackspace (uses OpenStack) to the list of custom providers or make it simple to plug in a custom provider. All the providers are fairly cookie cutter... jack
Would like to have the ability to remove and add items to a pivot grid's filter window prior to rendering. Any item added or removed would be persisted/updated to the data-source. Many requests come from vendors that require certain information to be provided or removed based on user privileges, business rules, user inputs, etc..
Currently it's not possible to overrule number of pages to be shown in page navigation, if EntityDataSource is used. There is the problem that always all rows from data source get queried, when GridGroupByExpression has been defined for RadGrid - and this is really a problem, if data source has hundreds of thousands of records (as in our case). The performance is really bad. To overcome this issue I would like to control myself, which data gets returned by adapting query in OnQueryCreated event of EntityDataSource, basically by "injecting" skip / take expression to entity query. I am responsible myself about sorting and grouping should be done on page level only (so there is no need to query always ALL data). In same event I want to set VirtualItemCount, which should control number of pages to be shown in page navigation (in combination with AllowCustomPaging). But unfortunately this setting is not taken into account by RadGrid for displaying pages in page navigation. Is it possible to overrule this behavior that VirtualitemCount is always taken into account when AllowCustomPaging has been enabled? I would like to control myself. Thanks, Roger
Kendo ui Grid is taking more than 10 secs to load Data.It contains approx 16000 records.I am using Ajax call to get data from Database. Please let me know how to reduce the load time.In ASP grid it is taking not more than 3 secs to load the data of 16000 records.
It would be interesting to know what state is sending: Receiving file, assembly file... It is not practical, take longer to assemble than submit, given the experience with the end-user interface... (tested with Azure) Regards
add ability for radcomboboxitem to expose the attributes collection for the selected item when client-side binding occurs via a webservice. (based on support id 87724). Currently only selected text and values are accessible when posted back. The attributes related to the selected item are as important to provide proper context once on the server side. Again, this only necessary for the selected item, not all items as I understand the ramifications to client side performance.
It would be nice to give Rotator the ability to refresh contents every x minutes or seconds right out of the box, providing a refresh interval option. This could only work when using webservices, page methods or any other data fetching method, as long as it existed :) This feature is very useful when data needs to be refresh without user intervention.
An issue our clients have raised is that the Timeview popup only allows them to set a time in 30 minute intervals, this is not accurate enough when setting a schedule for an operation to occur. Decreasing the time intervals displayed in the TimeView popup is not really viable as the popup would require a large screen area to display 24hrs in 5 minute intervals. Please can you add additional controls to the TimeView popup to allow the user to accurately set the time. I have attached a screenshot of my current solution, when the timeview opens I set the manual entry controls to display the current time and using these controls the user can pick 1-12 for the hour, 0-59 for the minuters and AM/PM for the time of day, when clicking the SET button the timeview popup sets the time and closes. I do feel that this would make a far more flexiable control. Please vote
I'm using RadScheduler with TimelineView, i have ExactTimeRendering and it shows the appointments clear. Since i have the slots with 12hours, i want to adjust an extra hour, but when i resize it always adjust an extra 12hours. Would be very helpfull to had a property to allow exactappointment drag, so i can resize 1 extra hour instead of 12. Something similar like in radgrid, when resize columns it shows me how much pixels, in this case i want it to show the time.
