I am using the "PostbackTriggers" property of the Upload control, as described on your web site article "How to Persist Uploaded Files".

This works well for the situation where I need a postback on a control, but that control is not a "submit" control.

The problem comes when I use one of the "submit" controls (listed in the PostbackTriggers property), but a server side validation error occurs, and the form data (including uploaded files) is NOT saved to the DB. (This is a type of validation that can only be done on the server side.) In that case, the upload control loses the uploaded file information. Thus two questions:

1. Is there a way on the server side to tell the control that an error has occurred, and to continue to persist the uploaded file information?

2. Is there a way for the upload control to ALWAYS persist the uploaded file information until told on the server side that I have extracted the information I need from it?

A valid SQL statement should look like

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 1)

or

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 'True')

but RadGrid provides something like

([Discontinued] = True)

in the MasterTableView.FilterExpression property.

By default RadGrid filters the data on its own after retrieving the entire data set form the data source, and the filtering operation works like that.
If you will be using the filter expression provided by the grid in a custom data source operation you may need to tweak the string first.
Note that changing this may result in a breaking change if you are already using the current syntax.

Workaround: https://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/grid/details/get-sql-compliant-filterexpressions-from-radgrid

Images that reside in the grid will get resized (scaled down with about 3-5 %) which might cause issues, specially if exporting bar-codes, thus the bar-code scanners won't be able to read them.

Current workaround is to use the Telerik Documents Processing Library and build the table manually where the images are inserted without changing the size.

Here is an example:

        protected void RadGrid1_InfrastructureExporting(object sender, GridInfrastructureExportingEventArgs e)
        {
            Telerik.Web.UI.ExportInfrastructure.Table table = e.ExportStructure.Tables[0];

            Workbook workbook = new Workbook();
            workbook.Worksheets.Add();

            Worksheet worksheet = workbook.ActiveWorksheet;

            foreach (var row in table.Rows)
            {
                if (row.Index > 1)
                {
                    worksheet.Rows[row.Index - 1].SetHeight(new RowHeight(55, true));
                }

                foreach (var cell in row.Cells)
                {
                    if (row.Index == 1 || cell.ColIndex != 2)
                    {
                        worksheet.Cells[cell.Index.Y - 1, cell.Index.X - 1].SetValue(cell.Value.ToString());
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        FloatingImage image = new FloatingImage(worksheet, new CellIndex(cell.Index.Y - 1, cell.Index.X - 1), 0, 0);
                        Stream stream = File.Open(Server.MapPath(cell.Value.ToString()), FileMode.Open);
                        using (stream)
                        {
                            image.ImageSource = new Telerik.Windows.Documents.Media.ImageSource(stream, "jpg");
                        }
                        worksheet.Shapes.Add(image);
                    }
                }
            }

            byte[] data;

            using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream())
            {
                XlsxFormatProvider xlsProvider = new XlsxFormatProvider();
                xlsProvider.Export(workbook, ms);
                data = ms.ToArray();
            }

            Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet";
            Response.Headers.Remove("Content-Disposition");
            Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + RadGridLista.ExportSettings.FileName + ".xlsx");
            Response.BinaryWrite(data);
            Response.End();
        }

If AllowPaging, AllowScroll and UseStaticHeaders are set to true, then there will be 2 empty <th> elements

workaround:
    <ClientSettings>
...
        <ClientEvents OnGridCreated="OnGridCreated" />
    </ClientSettings>

<script>
    function OnGridCreated(sender, args) {
        var emptyth = $telerik.$(sender.get_element())
            .find("th").filter(function (ind, item) { return item.textContent == "" });
        // alert(emptyth.length)
        emptyth.append("<span style='display:none'>Hidden empty table header</span>")
    }
</script>

Simple reproducible is attached to illustrate the problem.

A workaround may be replacing RadButtons that invokes such postbacks with regular buttons and using a form decorator

Alternatively, you can simply disable the handler URL encryption

You can also put the following in the global.asax file to prevent the version from rendering on the page markup
        protected void Application_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
			System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Items["_!TelerikVersionStampRendered"] = true;
        }
or you can add the same line in a global Page_Load handler (e.g., in a base page class or in the master page your project uses)

Currently when doing a Batch Edit with the Grid each row and cell must be updated with a new/edited value before saving.

Example: a User has a Grid containing records and would like to update several records because a Date field requires updating.

Can it be possible for the User to select the Rows they would like to update, Edit the Date Field(using the example above), but this time when Saved all records that were selected are updated.

This solution may require a modal to be displayed that shows all fields available, similar to Edit/Insert grid Popup. The appropriate field is then updated and saved only to selected records.

This feature would save a lot of time by not having to edit each row individually then saving.

I actually want a sample similar to facebook where you scroll down and the vertical scrollbar automatically adjust without a slidder or a button.

So far, the provided samples are not really doing the job.

As suggested by Eyup Admin, i'm opening this feature request for a working sample using server side.

I know that there are articles that describe how to detect that the user has interacted with the RadEditor, but checking whether the content has changed is quite another task.
I understand that the underlying storage method makes it almost impossible to compare, but that's why we need the control to do this internally.
Even if we fall short of comparing the content, at least build-in the workarounds into the control to invoke a single "Changing" event.

Would be good if ajax pivotgrid filter window supported OLAP dimension hierarchies

The Filter window / popup, doesn't seem to respect an OLAP dimension hierarchy. It just shows a flat list at top level (for example case of date hierarchy just shows year).

See attached for a date hierarchy example in three different cube browsers, each with the same OLAP SSAS backend. Browsers are a) ajax pivot grid, b) kendo pivot grid and c) excel

The Ajax version just shows flat list, whereas kendo pivot and excel show the hierarchy

Thanks

Implement a string indexer or a method to get column by unique name in RadGantt.

Example  of string indexer
//
// Summary: This class represents collection of Telerik.Web.UI.GanttBoundColumn.
//
public class ColumnCollection : BaseCollection<GanttBoundColumn>
{
	public ColumnCollection(){...}
	public ColumnCollection(IGantt owner){...}

	public GanttBoundColumn this[string ColumnName]
	{
	   //considering columnCollection is internal variable holding list of columns.
		return columnCollection.Where(c => c.UniqueName == ColumnName).FirstOrDefault();
	}
}

Example of a method can be similar to RadGrid's GetColumn and GetColumnSafe methods: https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/controls/grid/how-to/Common/using-the--getitems-getcolumn-and-getcolumnsafe-methods.

In the LayoutColumn we can easily set different Span which sets the width of the columns based on the viewport size.

A similar implementation with LayoutRow is required where based on viewport size, the height of the respective row can be set.

Properties can be:
Height [Defaault Height of the Row]
HeightXl
HeightLg
HeightSm
etc..

One potential issue is that the content of the rows determines their height (and doing it differently can break the layouts): https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/aspnet-ajax/controls/pagelayout/structure/rows. Nevertheless, you can use their CssClass property and cascade through it in a @media query of your own that will provide the desired appearance. For example, you can place you own containers that will receive the necessary rules.

Another caveat is how to determine the height, especially when set in percent. The layout may be in a container that does not span the entire viewport, and height in percent poses a lot of requirements on the entire HTML structure outside of the control as well (all parent elements having explicit dimensions, and no sibling elements being present next to elements with height in percent).

Considering these potential issues, you can use the CSS solution attached below.

Please provide an custom input to rotate the image loaded in imageeditor.
right now it is restricted to divisible of 90, it should accept any values and rotate accordingly.
