For Bug Report :

Note: We are using MM/dd/yyyy as Internal Date format to prevent issue while inserting or updating value.

Steps to reproduce:
When we use dd-MM-yyyy and yyyy-dd-MM Date DisplayFformat for RadDatePicker/RadDateTimePicker control as well as view mode in Radgrid Batch Edit mode it's render behaviour is inconsistent
1. When dd is less than or equal to 12 then while rendering in edit mode Month and Date is interchanged
2. When dd is greather than 12 then while rendering in edit mode Month and Date is rendered correctly.

You would get something like

(([createddate] >= '01/08/2017,00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017,23:59:59'))

while you should get something like

(([createddate] >= '01/08/2017 00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017 23:59:59'))

so that the SQL syntax is valid.

RadGrid, does not send the FilterExpression to the SqlDataSource, however. It executes the SELECT statement and then filters the resulting data on its own. This works fine.

If you will be performing operations yourself, you could use a string operation before passing the filter expression. For example:

protected void RadGrid1_NeedDataSource(object sender, GridNeedDataSourceEventArgs e)
{
	if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression))
	{
		if (this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression.Contains("createddate"))
		{
			this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression = this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression.Replace(",", " ");
		}
		DataView dv =GetData("select * from [myTable] where ", this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression);
                //where you would need to have something like (([createddate] >= '01/08/2017 00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017 23:59:59'))
		this.RadGrid1.DataSource = dv;
	}
}

Note that implementing such a change may break existing code that relies on the current syntax that contains the comma.

The FooterAggregateFormatString functionality of the Grid does not affect the Aggregates values format in a client-bound Grid.

Code to reproduce:
            <telerik:RadGrid RenderMode="Lightweight" ID="RadGrid1" runat="server" ClientDataSourceID="RadClientDataSource1" AllowPaging="true" AllowSorting="true" AllowFilteringByColumn="true" ShowFooter="true">
                <MasterTableView ClientDataKeyNames="CustomerID" EditMode="Batch" CommandItemDisplay="Top" BatchEditingSettings-HighlightDeletedRows="true">
                    <Columns>
                        <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="CustomerID" HeaderText="Customer ID"  Aggregate="Count" FooterAggregateFormatString="No currency sign here: {0:C}">
                        </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
                        <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="CompanyName" HeaderText="Company Name" ColumnEditorID="GridTextBoxEditor">
                        </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
                        <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="ContactName" HeaderText="Contact Name" ColumnEditorID="GridTextBoxEditor">

                        <telerik:GridClientDeleteColumn HeaderText="Delete">

Would be nice to have RadGrid offer the feature to have options to Merge Cells with same contents so the report/grid won't be so busy. Users typically expect this kind of look and feel.

Example & code included:
    http://www.marss.co.ua/2010/01/how-to-merge-cells-with-equal-values-in.html

This ticket discussed it also: 1091013

Others in forums asked about this also in the past since about 2009, if we google on: telerik grid asp.net merge cell. .
http://www.telerik.com/forums/problems-with-merge-row-in-radgrid

http://www.telerik.com/forums/merge-cells-by-column

http://www.telerik.com/forums/merge-rows

Then I found this link among the results from google. Though, I wish there are RowMerge and ColumnMerge properties in RadGrid for us to turn it on/off. That will be wonderful.

http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/winforms/details/radgridview-merge-celss

This example is also from the following link from the same google search result, the first link.

Thanks.

radgrid exporttoexcel and all exports (word, pdf, csv, excel) should be able to export to file on server without the browser also sending the file to the client.

RadGrid base styles override skins e.g. "border: 1px solid" will override any value for "border-color" that come from non-embed skins.

When using keyboard navigation, the ESC key currently does some things properly (like closing out of batch editing forms). However, it does not prevent the firing of certain update events (like BatchEditCellValueChanged). The ESC key should act like a "cancel" key, so no update events should fire when it is pressed.

The client-side KeyPress event is falling out of favor and the KeyDown even is being used more. Please implement an OnKeyDown event for the Grid, just like you currently have an OnKeyPress event

When in batch edit mode, using standard asp.net validation controls will display the validation error within the cell, and expand the cell contents horizontally and possibly vertically as well. This is a very ugly (and clunky) way to show validation messages in a batch edit mode.

It would be nice if instead, we could set an grid attribute that specifies a row backcolor when validation fails for a row. In addition, show that rows validation messages automatically in a tooltip or radtooltip as the user hovers the mouse over the row when it signifies the exception backcolor. These messages could be assigned to a columns markup as an attribute.

Another nice to have is to show a section on the grid (perhaps under the header) that could display to alert the user when validation had failed.

Hi,

Our Accessibility partner while evaluating our product for 508 compliance we got one report saying RadGrid control is not accessible. We do have enablearia attribute on the radgrid and is emitting the aria-attributes as mentioned in your demo.
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/accessibility-and-internationalization/wai-aria-support/defaultcs.aspx

As per them : "So it does not alert the user that arrow keys may be used to navigate it".
I have attached a snippet of their report regarding radgrid accessibility. Can you please let me know if anything is missing.
Thanks and best regards,
Mirang

When I'm having an accessibility tool like JAWS read the numerical pager (see screenshot attached), it reads: "1 : Link", "2 : Link" etc. (and "Dot dot dot : Link" for any GridLinkButton with that text.)

I want it to read a custom message, like "Go to page {0:D}", for the numerical pager GridLinkButtons, either in the corresponding GridLinkButton's title or aria-label attribute. The custom text should preferably be retrieved from GlobalResources.

I also want to be able to provide a separate, customizable title/aria-label text for the [...] GridLinkButtons, too.

For details see support ticket #1068383.

In radgrid, the excel style filtering shows a checkbox list of values to filter a column. This has limited use on a date + time column of a grid, because such a list would show basically every grid row value in the list. I can bind date only to the filter checkboxes to shorten that list, but if I apply a selected checkbox to filter then there will be no records returned. This checkbox filtering needs to work with the grid column attribute EnableTimeIndependentFiltering (when it is filtering a datetime column) but it does not - that attribute only works with the datepicker calendar and text entry.

Please add support for tags in exported PDF documents. We need these tags for accessibility purposes. Currently, when we export a PDF from a RadGrid, it is created without any tag structure, which can make it difficult for a screen reader to process correctly.

This feature request is regarding the ExportToExcel button in Radgrid.

ExportToExcel button in Radgrid adds an extra row in the exported excel sheet. This is due to the presence of Filtering items.

Export to Excel code in radgrid:

<ExportSettings ExportOnlyData="true" IgnorePaging="true" Excel-Format="Biff" OpenInNewWindow="True">
<Excel Format="Biff" AutoFitImages="True"></Excel>
        </ExportSettings>
<CommandItemSettings ShowAddNewRecordButton="False" ShowRefreshButton="False" ShowExportToExcelButton="True" ExportToExcelText="Export Grid To Excel"/>

The above code produces an extra row.

I know there is a fix by disabling the Filtering items in the grid in OnItemCommand event. So I used that. The code is given below:

protected void RadGrid1_ItemCommand(object sender, GridCommandEventArgs e)
        {
            if (e.CommandName == RadGrid.ExportToExcelCommandName)
            {
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.AllowFilteringByColumn = false;
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.Rebind();
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.ExportSettings.Excel.Format = GridExcelExportFormat.Biff;
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.ExportSettings.IgnorePaging = true;
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.ExportSettings.ExportOnlyData = true;
                ReviewByCollegeGrid.ExportSettings.OpenInNewWindow = true;
            }
        }
But it is a lot of work when you have to do it for all the web pages in your application. Please provide a feature which will help to solve this issue in an easier way.

It would be convenient to be able to specify default values for SortAscImageURL and SortDescImageURL at a level above the individual column elements

At present the SortAscImageURL and SortDescImageURL attributes appear in the GridBoundColumn element. This requires specifying them for each column definition. Often the UI will use the same icons for all sort-able columns.
An obvious choice might be the <SortingSettings> element, as is done for the sorting tool tip and sorted background color.

Allow the possibility of saving the batch edit changes either from the server or together with another postback. Currently saving can be done through a button with client-side code but only if the button has no postback. When something on the form will cause a postback (e.g. tab change, combo box selection) it would be nice to be able to automatically save batch edit changes in the client-side code for that control. Right now that code will have no effect because of the postback. When other changes have to be made at the same time as the batch edit changes, with code that is in the batcheditcommand event on the server, the event will not fire unless there were changes to the grid, so those other changes could be lost.

Current RadGrid (Q3 2015) does supports model binding of master/detail records.

Request the functionality to set ItemType on the detail gridview and pass the master's datakey as the id for the detail select method.

Or, alternatively, if the model has a virtual IQuerable binding, set the detail view's datasource to the models virtual entity

For example, a model with a one to many relationship to the color options for a car:
Model Cars()
{ string name
int colorRange
virtual colorOptionsModel colorOptions
}
Model colorOptionsModel
{
int colorRange
 string colorName;
}

In the RadGrid:
<mastertable DataKeyName = "colorRange">
<DetailView datasource="Item.colorOptions">
