Brief summary of the issue:

I have a Telerik RadGrid, and there is a date column on the grid layout. The date format I am using to display date values is "dd/MM/yyyy". Then, I export that grid data to Excel file with GridExcelExportFormat.Biff type. The problem here is when I open the newly exported Excel file, the date format is changed to "MM/dd/yyyy".

I want to keep displaying my date format "dd/MM/yyyy" in the Excel file after exporting the grid data.

Issue seems to happen with RadGrid with Bootstrap Skin, RenderMode Lightweight when RequireFieldValidator is enabled in combination with Batch Editing.

Unexpected look (Bootstrap skin):

Other skins seems to have it right.

Expected look (Default skin):

If the Page culture is set to anything other than "en-US", RadDatePicker in the HeaderContextMenu will loose the correct format and swaps the Day with the Month after filtering.

To replicate the problem:

  1. Create RadGrid and bind it a datasource
  2. Set ClientSettings - Selecting - AllowRowSelect to true
  3. Set ClientSettings - EnablePostBackOnRowClick to true
  4. Add a GridEditCommandColumn or a ButtonColumn with Edit/Save/Cancel CommandNames
  5. Enable AJAX for the Grid
  6. Run the application in FireFox

Clicking on the Edit button fires the RowClick event of the Grid instead of Edit/Save/Cancel.

If anchor links of GridButtonColumn do not define a text links are still rendered and screen readers read their href attribute. Anchor links with no text could define an attribute area-hidden="true".

There should be RadGrid.ExportSettings.WorksheetName property to name a Sheet inside the Excel file, instead of having it named after the RadGrid.ExportSettings.FileName property as well as to avoid additional coding to Work around this.

ExcelML currently does not support multiple column headers (aka ColumnGroups). This was first requested in the forms back in 2012 and no feature request was created for ExcelML. It is important that ExcelML support ColumnGroups as Excel does support this functionality.

Steps to reproduce the error.

Create a ClientDeleteColumn with CommandName="Delete" and wire up the onCommand client-event to RadGrid.

<telerik:RadGrid ID="RadGrid1" runat="server">
    <MasterTableView>
        <Columns>
            <telerik:GridClientDeleteColumn CommandName="Delete" ButtonType="LinkButton"></telerik:GridClientDeleteColumn>
        </Columns>
    </MasterTableView>
    <ClientSettings>
        <ClientEvents OnCommand="OnCommand" />
    </ClientSettings>
</telerik:RadGrid>

The event handler does not need to do anything.

function OnCommand(sender, args) {
}

A valid SQL statement should look like

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 1)

or

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 'True')

but RadGrid provides something like

([Discontinued] = True)

in the MasterTableView.FilterExpression property.

By default RadGrid filters the data on its own after retrieving the entire data set form the data source, and the filtering operation works like that.
If you will be using the filter expression provided by the grid in a custom data source operation you may need to tweak the string first.
Note that changing this may result in a breaking change if you are already using the current syntax.

Workaround: https://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/grid/details/get-sql-compliant-filterexpressions-from-radgrid

If AllowPaging, AllowScroll and UseStaticHeaders are set to true, then there will be 2 empty <th> elements

workaround:
    <ClientSettings>
...
        <ClientEvents OnGridCreated="OnGridCreated" />
    </ClientSettings>

<script>
    function OnGridCreated(sender, args) {
        var emptyth = $telerik.$(sender.get_element())
            .find("th").filter(function (ind, item) { return item.textContent == "" });
        // alert(emptyth.length)
        emptyth.append("<span style='display:none'>Hidden empty table header</span>")
    }
</script>

Currently when doing a Batch Edit with the Grid each row and cell must be updated with a new/edited value before saving.

Example: a User has a Grid containing records and would like to update several records because a Date field requires updating.

Can it be possible for the User to select the Rows they would like to update, Edit the Date Field(using the example above), but this time when Saved all records that were selected are updated.

This solution may require a modal to be displayed that shows all fields available, similar to Edit/Insert grid Popup. The appropriate field is then updated and saved only to selected records.

This feature would save a lot of time by not having to edit each row individually then saving.

The ability to freeze columns on the left in a RadGrid is a great feature. However freezing them from both the left AND right would be even better.

I have a scenario where the far left column in a date field (which is frozen and works great). Then there are about 30 columns that scroll. The final column is a "totals" column for that week, and it would be great if that was frozen on the right so I don't need to scroll all the way over to see that column...

Default values are provided for fields with non-string type in insert mode when RadGrid is bound using Model Binding. The reason behind it, is that the Insert item of the RadGrid is being bound similar to the edit Item and values are then provided by the framework.

Please create an option to remove the default values when inserting a new record.
