Hi, in SearchBox, when the field being searched is a date, we would like to be able to search via the 'smart parsing engine' of DateInput.

In a FormView, a routine scenario is to provide a control that has some sort of picklist (either DropDown or ComboBoxList) that may be tied to a field that contains a DBNull.

An example might be where one of the fields in the Telerik Profile specifies their favorite Telerik Product (KendoUI, ASP.NET AJAX, etc.). However, their might be profiles where the user has not selected a favorite product. Assuming that the Product list comes from a related table, then this field (say, FavoriteProductId) in the Profile would contain a DBNull.

I would like Telerik to add "declarative" functionality on the RadComboBox and RadDropDownList to handle the case where SelectedValue = DBNull.

Below is an example of what this might look like for a RadComboBox (inside of a FormView -- note: only showing the RadComboBox declaration).

<telerik:RadComboBox Style="z-index: 9100"  ID="rcbFirstOrder" runat="server" Width="50px" SelectedValue='<%# Bind("FirstOrder") %>'     HandleDBNull="true" >
    <Items>
        <telerik:RadComboBoxItem runat="server" Text="" Value="DbNull (or Null or Nothing)" />
        <telerik:RadComboBoxItem runat="server" Text="No" Value="0" />
        <telerik:RadComboBoxItem runat="server" Text="Yes" Value="255" />
    </Items>
</telerik:RadComboBox>

Notice the new property --- HandleDBNull = true and the ability to define the value on a RadComboBoxItem as DBNull (or null or nothing) -- some string to define DBNull.

Although the above example shows all the RadComboBoxItems defined declaratively, this scenario could easily be extended to use AppendDataBoundItems = true and the non-DBNull values to come from a Data Source.

Thanks for taking the time to consider this functionality. This enhancement would remove all of the code-behind tweaks that are currently incorporated to use a ComboBoxList / DropDownList with a database field that can contain DBNull.

Currently when numerous series items are present, numerical series (Scatter/ScatterLine) calculates automatically the step through which the major/minor gridlines and the corresponding xaxis labels are rendered, so that they are visually readable.

For categorical charts, however, when multiple series items are present, all the xaxis labels are plotted, so that they are not readable. Add ability to autoadjust the step for the xaxis labels in categorical charts.

When multiple RadButtons (ButtonType="ToggleButton" ToggleType="Radio") are grouped through GroupName property, the server-side property checked doesn't take effect when the button which is to be checked is declared before the current checked button.

The workaround is to execute JavaScript from the server which sets the checked property. For example:

C#:

        string script = "function f(){$find(\"" + RadButton1.ClientID + "\").set_checked(true); Sys.Application.remove_load(f);}Sys.Application.add_load(f);";
        ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, this.GetType(), "key", script, true);

Why don't you include a boolean property to show selected image inside input ?

This is already a code library to do it :

I would like to suggest ability to display data series in doughnut and pie charts, see attached example from Excel.

And thanks for a great Telerik experience, you make my development work very easy.

I would like to see a new control, a Submit button, that when added to a web form would act not only as a Submit button but also have the functionality to provide a warning message with options when the user attempts to exit a form on which changes have been made yet not saved, activated by the windows beforeunload event.

When adding the new Submit button to a form options/properties would be available to the developer to select all or specific controls on the form to check for changes. The developer would also have the option of providing the warning message to be displayed as well as being able to title the buttons of the warning message as appropriate, i.e. "Leave without Saving Changes", "Stay on Page and Save Changes".

If the user presses this "Submit" button all the "data changed" flags would be cleared and the beforeunload event will be cleared allowing for redirection or further processing.

Since we as developers want to provide the best possible experience for our web users, this type of control would be invaluable in making the user experience easier and less frustrating. In addition it would save many hours of coding by encapsulating this type functionality in a single control that can be inserted in place of the standard Submit button making it easier and more convenient for a developer to provide professional data forms to users tailored to the specific type of data gathering that the form is being designed for.

I know that there are many jquery/javascript functions that perform similar functionality, but it would be so much more convenient if a Telerik control existed that would perform these functions.

An existing control looks like http://demos.devexpress.com/ASPxImageAndDataNavigationDemos/NewsControl/DataBinding.aspx
Where this control would allow you to express the UI of the aggregated feed data, where as the feeds from RSS or LinkedIn, YouTube etc can be sorted, grouped, stared or shared.
So ideally feeds can be added at run time. Personal settings could be saved using existing tooling.
The ideal solution would allow the end user to customize their feeds.
Ideally it would degrade well onto a mobile interface so you can flick thru all the feeds, flick to the left or right to dismiss or save. This is a bit more KendoUI

A new control that would respond to dynamic or highly relational data by showing relations to nodes would be extremely useful. Two examples are linked below: http://philogb.github.io/jit/static/v20/Jit/Examples/Hypertree/example1.html and http://www.visualthesaurus.com/app/view.

The two examples show basic nodes and the ability for the end user to move through data to focus on specific data points and the map changes to show the relations stemming from that position.

What would be useful to include would be the ability to define the points by some sort of type, and to colorize the points and/or connectors. The Telerik Diagram and Org Charts have a very basic type of relation - but are insufficient to map to the level of the examples.

Where we would like to use this would be to map our software and services. Linking all dependencies and allowing a dynamic view of these would be extremely helpful. Our other business processes would most likely follow this example, where we could map our members to their services and costs, and rotate in on specific areas where we could focus on cost improvements.

I would just like to be able to easily control the horizontal alignment of the paging buttons of a RadDataPager control. I should be able to set the paging buttons left, center, or right and when I choose that the entire set of buttons follows that command.

Right now they align to the left so the only option is to do some margin stuff in CSS to move them around. While this sort of works it's not very good, especially when the number of page button changes (based on search results). Also, this method is terrible on mobile phones with different widths.

I opened Support ID 873213 on this and they suggested I post it as a feature request here. Seems like this option is a no brainer to add.

Category: TreeMap
Type: Feature Request

Since the Webinar, I've been trying to use the TreeMap control for a new project and there are some additional properties I'd like to suggest for the TreeMap that would make it much more hospitable to use without hacking the individual elements of the control.

The following names are only to demonstrate what I'm suggesting:

1. TreeMapItem.FontColor -- in the ItemDataBound event I am easily able to change the background color of the TreeMapItem by changing the .color property. I'd like to be able to do the same with font color.

Similarly, it appears that the .color property is ignored for parent rows. At the least I'd like to change the font color there as well.

2. TreeMapItem.NavigateUrl -- the RadTreeMap object has a .NavigateUrl property but in this project we'd like to have the TreeMapItem objects to have a separate NavigateUrl property so the user can click to go to web pages with detailed information and web forms for changing that data. Right now I'm having to attach javascript client-side click events and that's just a kludge, especially since the RadTreeMap control has the desired functionality to begin with.

Similarily, I was very surprised that the TreeMapItems respond to hover by placing a white border around the TreeMapItem on the screen, but do not have any exposed click events. Yes, I know you can use Javascript events, but I would also like to be able to use server-side events since this is a server-side control.

3. This one seems like it might be difficult, but I'd like to see a "row" property, at least when RadTreeMap.AlgorithmType = "Horizontal" so that I can calculate the height of the control. For example, I have an instance where I have a parent header, sub parent header, and variable 3-6 rows of data for each sub-parent header. Because I'm feeding the TreeMap control datatables it is difficult to determine the number of "rows" in the TreeMap since each row has different numbers of rows on the datatable depending upon how much information is in the row (each row can have up to 4 type of data inserted into the row).

I understand if this isn't probable (or even possible) for the "Vertical" and "Squarified" algorithms, since those can have variable numbers of TreeMapItems in the height. But "Horizontal" should be in distinct rows .

Thanks! As I work with this, I'm sure I'll come up with more ideas. I'll post them here.
