As shown in the attached screen, please keep the column headers Fixed or Visible so they are still visible when users scroll down to see the other data, for both RadGrid and PivotGrid:

Extend the progress bar functionality to have a multicoloured chunks option.

For example, I've got an action which requires 4 steps. I would like to set the chunk for the current step to have a different colour from that of a completed step. Please see attached file sample.

In the RadGantt, when using WebServices with the Gantt, there is no OnClientRequestEnd client side event.

We have a scenario where we're wanting to be able to track whether or not an insert/update event succeeded (and update a control elsewhere on our page if it did) or failed (and show an alert if it didn't). however there is currently no event handler for when WebService requests from the RadGantt have completed.

I would like to suggest that the Buttons in the RadGrid allow databinding to the CommandName and CommandArgument fields. And pretty much all the buttons or anything that triggers an ItemCommand event that allow a CommandName and CommandArgument have their properties to be databound and accessible in the code behind.

Thanks!!!

When using the radcloudupload component with large files, the progress bar indicates that the download is finished when it is not.
Is it possible to make the display match the reality of the download?
Thx

For Bug Report :

Note: We are using MM/dd/yyyy as Internal Date format to prevent issue while inserting or updating value.

Steps to reproduce:
When we use dd-MM-yyyy and yyyy-dd-MM Date DisplayFformat for RadDatePicker/RadDateTimePicker control as well as view mode in Radgrid Batch Edit mode it's render behaviour is inconsistent
1. When dd is less than or equal to 12 then while rendering in edit mode Month and Date is interchanged
2. When dd is greather than 12 then while rendering in edit mode Month and Date is rendered correctly.

A valid SQL statement should look like

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 1)

or

SELECT * FROM Products WHERE ([Discontinued] = 'True')

but RadGrid provides something like

([Discontinued] = True)

in the MasterTableView.FilterExpression property.

By default RadGrid filters the data on its own after retrieving the entire data set form the data source, and the filtering operation works like that.
If you will be using the filter expression provided by the grid in a custom data source operation you may need to tweak the string first.
Note that changing this may result in a breaking change if you are already using the current syntax.

Workaround: https://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/grid/details/get-sql-compliant-filterexpressions-from-radgrid

You would get something like

(([createddate] >= '01/08/2017,00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017,23:59:59'))

while you should get something like

(([createddate] >= '01/08/2017 00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017 23:59:59'))

so that the SQL syntax is valid.

RadGrid, does not send the FilterExpression to the SqlDataSource, however. It executes the SELECT statement and then filters the resulting data on its own. This works fine.

If you will be performing operations yourself, you could use a string operation before passing the filter expression. For example:

protected void RadGrid1_NeedDataSource(object sender, GridNeedDataSourceEventArgs e)
{
	if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression))
	{
		if (this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression.Contains("createddate"))
		{
			this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression = this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression.Replace(",", " ");
		}
		DataView dv =GetData("select * from [myTable] where ", this.RadGrid1.MasterTableView.FilterExpression);
                //where you would need to have something like (([createddate] >= '01/08/2017 00:00:00') AND ([createddate] <= '14/08/2017 23:59:59'))
		this.RadGrid1.DataSource = dv;
	}
}

Note that implementing such a change may break existing code that relies on the current syntax that contains the comma.

When working with All-day appointments, it would be really nice to be able to resize them in the week view.

In some cases when only working with All-day appointments, we were able to hide the time part of the Scheduler control entirely, but in this case the week view is almost pointless since our end users want to resize appointments a lot!

When I try to close the RadWindow on mobile (Chrome Mobile, Chrome Mobile desktop emulator) by clicking on the default Close button (aka X button), if I have a clickable element behind the X button, this one also grabs the input and triggers the OnClick event of the behind element.

The problem can be reproduced in the following demo http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/window/examples/radopen/defaultcs.aspx.

Workaround:
<script>
        function OnClientShow(sender, args) {
            $telerik.$(".rwCloseButton").bind("touchstart", function (e) {
                $telerik.cancelRawEvent(e);
            });
       }
</script>
<telerik:RadWindow OnClientBeforeShow="OnClientShow" RenderMode="Lightweight" ID="RadWindow1" runat="server" ShowContentDuringLoad="false" Width="400px"
                Height="400px" Title="Telerik RadWindow" Behaviors="Default">

When track changes disabled the backspace is OK:
- User typed two lines (1) & (2)
- At the beginning of the line (2) user presses the backspace key, it successfully appended the line (2) with line (1) (where there was a space available).
When track changes enabled the backspace does not work as expected:
- User typed two lines (1) & (2)
- At the beginning of the line (2) user presses the backspace key, it removes the end of the character in line (1).

Given a RadComboBox with search, if the user enters some search text and then clicks on one of the filtered entries in the dropdown list the validation event is fired as the entry box loses focus and results in a 'false' return from validation as it uses the 'Text' property which is the search string. Validation is then refired as a result of clicking on the entry.
However, the initial 'false' return can cause unwanted behaviour in code that depends on the validation event.
I can supply a sample project demonstrating the problem, but it needs more than the 10 MB upload limit.

Put more than two RadDatePicker with single SharedCalendar on page. some RadDatePicker are in side of UpdatePanel with a button in it. when I press that button RadDatePicker behaviour is strange.
RadDatePicker inside UpdatePanel not opening Calendar popup while RadDatePicker outside UpdatePanel opens calendar popup but gives javascript error on any date selection. the javascript error is "Unable to get property '_selectedDates' of undefined or null reference".
It looks like it is destroying shared calendar object on partial postback.
Please find below sample code to replicate the issue. after clicking "Submit" button, it doesn't open calendar popup for "Date 2" and for "Date 1" it opens but doesn't allow to select date and gives JavaScript error.

----------------------
<asp:ScriptManager ID="sc1" runat="server" />
<telerik:RadCalendar ID="dtCal" runat="server" EnableMultiSelect="false" />
Date 1:
<telerik:RadDatePicker ID="dt1" Width="103px" runat="server" SharedCalendarID="dtCal" />
<hr />
<asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="up">
	<ContentTemplate>
		Date 2:
		<telerik:RadDatePicker ID="dt2" Width="103px" runat="server" SharedCalendarID="dtCal" />
		<br />
		<asp:Button runat="server" ID="btnDT" Text="Submit" />
	</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
----------------------

When i add all controls in UpdatePanel it works properly. but Actual code is much more complex than above sample with too many lines of javascript code and many date pickers on single page and simply all Calendar and DatePicker controls can not be moved in UpdatePanel.

"Loading..." text in Combobox with Virtual Scrolling is visible on first set of items loading.
It shows first time "Loading..." text. on scrolling it loads items from PageMethods/WebService but "Loading..." text it not visible i.e. because it is first <LI> item so it is not visible.

Instead of first <LI> item, it should be at position where it always display while loading more items.

same issue is also in telerik demo website : http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/combobox/examples/populatingwithdata/autocompletesql/defaultcs.aspx

 For a Radmenu, when the current URL matches the site node url in the SiteMapDataSource, the corresponding menu items are highlighted (marked as selected). This allows the user to see on the menu, where they are in the menu.

RadNavigation does not support this functionality.

 I've added the functionality myself, however it's not elegant as the NavigationNode does not contain it's parent value.

Here is how I resolved it.

     private void RadNavigation1_NodeDataBound(object sender, Telerik.Web.UI.NavigationNodeEventArguments e)
        {
  System.Web.SiteMapNode node = ((System.Web.SiteMapNode)e.Node.DataItem);
            e.Node.Attributes.Add("Key", node.Key);

            if (e.Node.NavigateUrl == Page.Request.CurrentExecutionFilePath.ToString())
            {
                HighLightMenu(node);
            }
        }

        void HighLightMenu(System.Web.SiteMapNode node)
        {
            List<NavigationNode> nodes = (List<NavigationNode>)RadNavigation1.GetAllNodes();

            // find navigation node based on site node
            Telerik.Web.UI.NavigationNode navNode = nodes.Find(n => n.Attributes["Key"] != null && n.Attributes["Key"] == node.Key);

            //  Control ctrl = RadNavigation1.FindControl(navNode.ID);
            if (navNode != null)
                navNode.Selected = true;

            if (node.ParentNode != null)
                HighLightMenu(node.ParentNode);
        }

Hi,

Most of the telerik ASP.NET control examples while looking *really beautiful* are also hard to read / understand for beginning programmers like me :)

Why not add a truly minimalistic example per control that *only* shows the core functionality for each control?

grtz,
Theo

Why not add a "basic mode" to radasyncupload? that saves the selected file(s) in the target folder as soon as the upload is complete without the need for an extra postback?

Or facilitate a postback through a popup "upload complete" with an ok button?

And a little feedback in general on the documentation nearly all the examples have all the bells and whistles active, which makes them hard to read for programmers with little experience like me.

Why not have every control with a absolutely minimalistic example that only shows the core functionality?

Hi

Could we have an "export to excel functionality" in "rad grid" to
a "predefined formatted excel file".
So my excel exported file wont loose the formatting.
Thanks
