 Hi

Our O365 users  see 'Excel on the screen'  so it should behave the same, its Excel in a the browser - which means the Ajax controls are competing with this.
Which means our code is crap because there is a difference in investment between us and Microsoft, we are also burdened with the feature that uses are lazy and dont want to think for themselves, the computer is meant to do thier job for them (so why employ them).
We also use MS Teams here that allows Excel documents to be used in the Browser, Teams joins sharepoint and skype.

It would be nice to you to look how your controls might integrate with Office 365  tooling, there is enormous traction in the market with MS Teams and O365 so I imagine the AJAX document sources would need O365/azure examples soon.

It matters that you have a skin that allows users to perceive that this app is just like O365, and the same assumptions can be made about the UX, this lifts a lot of the burden for the developers in training, when the affordance of O365 App and Telerik Apps are the same.

I would appreciate a set of demo examples that connect in to Azure/O365 and equally Dynamics365 (BizTalk) because of the traction in the O365 space, the amount of process automation in businesses across the UK and Europe. So many of the Telerik controls looks like desktop controls, many are better it would be useful to show just how easy it is connect into O365, maybe create a Graph Query connector or a sample O365 connector that covers the CRUD operations for office docs.

Thanks in advance

We suspect a bug of Telerik controls:

Bug of Telerik: PageView.set_contentUrl(MyUrl) method - call MyUrl twice if RadTabStrip and RadMultiPage is inside RadAjaxPanel control. Firefox only.

Code: http://bit.ly/2NVbm8Z

It enter here two times: http://bit.ly/2NZ0cQH

If try it in chrome - request goes only one time.

If remove RadAjaxPanel - also request goes only one time.

Is it bug of your Controls?

Hi, I have trouble with RadScriptManager. I would like combine scripts on page to only one file. But when I enabled it, my site threw javascript error on loading.
Please help me fix it, it would also be better if you can help me understand what happened.

First image is what I set up for RadScriptManager

Secondary image is the error.

I have no idea what's Telerik.Web.UI.Point, I haven't used it anywhere.

Please help me get this error out & fix it.
Thank you.

Steps to repro:

1. Go to https://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/chat/toolbar/defaultcs.aspx

2. Show the toolbar with the ellipses

3. Enter enough messages so that the scroll is shown and continue to enter

4. The toolbar drop down on each click of an icon

See the attached video for more information.

Description:

If RadGrid has UseStaticHeaders enabled, different HTML Tables are rendered and instructing JAWS to read the tables one by one will also read the Header. It would say Header with "n" number of columns and one rows, since the table has only one row and that is containing the Column Names.

Goal:

It would be great, if the grid with Static Header could be made in a way that JAWS will only treat the grid as one Table instead of two separate tables.

RadCodeBLock and RadScriptBlock is not able to handle the server tags for all case scenarios, hence RadAjaxManager throws the exception mentioned in the title.

Would like to show column grouping for a few columns in the RaddGantt.

e.g.

  • Planned Start and Planned End to be grouped under Planned
  • Actual Start and Actual End to be grouped under Actual
  • Financial Detail columns to be grouped under Task Financials

Also, would like to add to the query, how can I have the Gantt chart with the dates shown vertically as in the image attached.
I don't want the Week or Month name coming in the grouping. Just dates in the timeline view.

We could use a new calendar control that works differently than the scheduler, or any existing calendar control.

Overview of features and how it would work:

  • User selects a month, the calendar auto draws the month as a calendar view with options to set day of week as short, medium or full length.
  • The calendar has an input field which can handle validation if needed. Validation example:
    • Only accept integers
    • In logic, if X = Whatever, then only allow input value of 1.

  • Treat as an array so we could loop through the control and read each value for saving to database or to take action on from code.

  • Example shown below. This is dynamically creating using tables and HTML. Not the nicest looking, and a pain to reuse anywhere. We could make use of this type of control in a lot of applications.

Example

When resizing a column in RTL, expectation is to use the left side of a column to expand/shrink it. Instead I have to use the right side. Grabbing the left side resizes the next column on the left and is very confusing for people who are used to think in RTL

Currently the set_value() method of the RadNumericTextBox throws an exception if null is passed to it as value while having the AllowOutOfRangeAutoCorrect property is set to true. This does not happen if the AllowOutOfRangeAutoCorrect is left as default (false).

GridAttachmentColumn malforms the String filepath, from "C\SomePath\SomeFile.PDF" to something like "C:" & vbBack &"SomePathSomeFile.PDF"

Steps to reproduce the error:

DataSource Bound to grid:

Private Function SomeTable() As DataTable
    Dim dt As New DataTable()

    dt.Columns.Add(New DataColumn("FieldName", Type.GetType("System.String")))

    row("FieldName") = "C:\SomeDirectory\RadGridExport.pdf"
    dt.Rows.Add(row)

    Return dt
End Function

GridAttachmentColumn markup as well as the ObjectDataSource that returns a byte array when user clicks on download attachment:

<telerik:GridAttachmentColumn DataSourceID="ObjectDataSource1"
    HeaderText="Attachment Column"
    AttachmentKeyFields="FieldName"
    AttachmentDataField="FieldName"
    DataTextField="FieldName"
    UniqueName="FieldName"
    ButtonType="ImageButton"
    UploadControlType="RadAsyncUpload"
    FileName="RadGridExport.pdf"
    ImageUrl="pdf-icon.png"
    ItemStyle-Height="36px"
    ItemStyle-Width="36px" >
</telerik:GridAttachmentColumn>

<asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSource1" runat="server" SelectMethod="MySelectMethod" TypeName="MyApp">
    <SelectParameters>
        <asp:Parameter Name="FieldName" Type="String" />
    </SelectParameters>
</asp:ObjectDataSource>

MyApp.MySelectMethod that is supposed access the file by "filePath" and read it to byte, but the filePath is malformed, hence throws an exception.

Public Class MyApp
    <DataObjectMethodAttribute(DataObjectMethodType.Select, True)>
    Public Function MySelectMethod(filePath As String) As DataTable
        Dim dt As New DataTable("Base")
        Dim col As New DataColumn("FieldName")
        col.DataType = System.Type.GetType("System.Byte[]")
        dt.Columns.Add(col)
        Dim row As DataRow = dt.NewRow
        row(0) = My.Computer.FileSystem.ReadAllBytes(filePath)

        dt.Rows.Add(row)
        Return dt
    End Function
End Class

I am using the "PostbackTriggers" property of the Upload control, as described on your web site article "How to Persist Uploaded Files".

This works well for the situation where I need a postback on a control, but that control is not a "submit" control.

The problem comes when I use one of the "submit" controls (listed in the PostbackTriggers property), but a server side validation error occurs, and the form data (including uploaded files) is NOT saved to the DB. (This is a type of validation that can only be done on the server side.) In that case, the upload control loses the uploaded file information. Thus two questions:

1. Is there a way on the server side to tell the control that an error has occurred, and to continue to persist the uploaded file information?

2. Is there a way for the upload control to ALWAYS persist the uploaded file information until told on the server side that I have extracted the information I need from it?

Images that reside in the grid will get resized (scaled down with about 3-5 %) which might cause issues, specially if exporting bar-codes, thus the bar-code scanners won't be able to read them.

Current workaround is to use the Telerik Documents Processing Library and build the table manually where the images are inserted without changing the size.

Here is an example:

        protected void RadGrid1_InfrastructureExporting(object sender, GridInfrastructureExportingEventArgs e)
        {
            Telerik.Web.UI.ExportInfrastructure.Table table = e.ExportStructure.Tables[0];

            Workbook workbook = new Workbook();
            workbook.Worksheets.Add();

            Worksheet worksheet = workbook.ActiveWorksheet;

            foreach (var row in table.Rows)
            {
                if (row.Index > 1)
                {
                    worksheet.Rows[row.Index - 1].SetHeight(new RowHeight(55, true));
                }

                foreach (var cell in row.Cells)
                {
                    if (row.Index == 1 || cell.ColIndex != 2)
                    {
                        worksheet.Cells[cell.Index.Y - 1, cell.Index.X - 1].SetValue(cell.Value.ToString());
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        FloatingImage image = new FloatingImage(worksheet, new CellIndex(cell.Index.Y - 1, cell.Index.X - 1), 0, 0);
                        Stream stream = File.Open(Server.MapPath(cell.Value.ToString()), FileMode.Open);
                        using (stream)
                        {
                            image.ImageSource = new Telerik.Windows.Documents.Media.ImageSource(stream, "jpg");
                        }
                        worksheet.Shapes.Add(image);
                    }
                }
            }

            byte[] data;

            using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream())
            {
                XlsxFormatProvider xlsProvider = new XlsxFormatProvider();
                xlsProvider.Export(workbook, ms);
                data = ms.ToArray();
            }

            Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet";
            Response.Headers.Remove("Content-Disposition");
            Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + RadGridLista.ExportSettings.FileName + ".xlsx");
            Response.BinaryWrite(data);
            Response.End();
        }

Simple reproducible is attached to illustrate the problem.

A workaround may be replacing RadButtons that invokes such postbacks with regular buttons and using a form decorator

Alternatively, you can simply disable the handler URL encryption

You can also put the following in the global.asax file to prevent the version from rendering on the page markup
        protected void Application_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
			System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Items["_!TelerikVersionStampRendered"] = true;
        }
or you can add the same line in a global Page_Load handler (e.g., in a base page class or in the master page your project uses)
