Map: Add support for WMTS map source
WMTS is a standard protocol for delivery of tiles map data - see  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Map_Tile_Service 
It should be possible to write code to understand pretty much any service complying with the specification. It would be good if RadMap could be extended to enable it to understand the WMTS specification and allow WMTS data to be used.

Hello Peter,

This functionality is not included for implementation for our next release. We can't give you a timeframe when this feature could be available. However, I would recommend you to follow the feedback item. This way you will be notified as soon as there is an update in the item's status.

Currently, you can create a custom provider that gets its map tiles from an external service. Further information about this can be found in the Implement custom map provider (https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/wpf/controls/radmap/how-to/howto-custom-provider) help article. Also, there is SDK example in our GitHub repository (https://github.com/telerik/xaml-sdk/tree/master/Map/WPF/HowToImplementCustomMapProvider) which demonstrate this approach.

This issue was approved in January 2017. This feature is going to become essential for us in the near future.

Are you able to give any indication about when it may be actioned?
