Hello John,

We still haven't planned the upcoming features for the Map control, so your feedback on this is greatly appreciated.
Regarding the first - I logged it as a separate feature request on your behalf, please cast your vote and track its status at the link below:
https://feedback.telerik.com/xamarin/1410816-map-provide-the-option-to-change-the-projection-of-the-map

As to the second one - could you elaborate more on the requested functionality?

Thanks in advance

Yana

Hi,

Now that this has been released I was wondering what features you have planned next for this control? More specifically, support for multiple coordinate systems outside of WGS 84? Will there be a feature that allows us to plot lines, polygons and points etc on the map?

Thanks.

Hi Yana,

Thank you for the update. Do you have an ETA on the R2 release?

Thanks,

Hi Carlos,

For the first version we're planning the map control to read only shp files.

Hi all,
It would be interesting if the map control could read a shapefile or kml file and visualize the shapes, besides exporting the modifications of the map (shapes) to a shp format.

Hi John,

Map control is currently in development and we're planning to release an initial version with the upcoming R2 2019 release.  The control will be with similar functionality as our UWP Map -  it will render spatial data from ESRI shape files.

Yana

Hi,

Is there any updates on this or more details of what features it would contain?

Do you have a Beta program?

Thanks.

Dear,
It would be of great help for the handling of maps, as well as the creation and edition of shapefiles or other forms.

Hi Simeon,

Thank you for sending your comment.

I am afraid that Map component is not in our immediate plans for the upcoming releases. We're keeping an eye on this request and consider implementing such a control, so since you're following the item, you will receive an email notification when there is a status change.

Yana,

This is a must really as you cannot easily create custom tile providers for a Xamarin app that does not fall foul of the platforms licence. For instance I pay for Here maps but cant create an android application with Xamarin Forms as I don't have a Google enterprise account and I want to create an asset tracking application.
