WPF 4.0 crash opening tests on specific environments
The following crash has been reported by a couple of machines running the 2013 R1 build. The reason is a bug in WPF 4.0 which MS has released a hotfix for:

We confirmed the crash no longer happens on a machine which we were always able to replicate the problem.

The problem is resolved with the latest official release from September.

For anyone following this item, we also recommend installing the official .Net 4.5 redistributable to run on top of.

Hello,

The installer is updated to detect if the necessary Net 4 hotfix is missing. In case like this it displays a warning pointing to the hotfix download page. The change will be in for the 2013 R1 official release.

In addition we are looking for a complete solution post R1.
