I am sure Kurt and Konstantin already know about this by now - but for the benefit of others who might land on this page ...

a) You can still open the vsmdi files in VS2012 - you just can't run tests from it. NOTE: For those who use TFS/Microsoft Test manager to manage and run tests, it is also the only way you can still create new test cases from tests or associate tests with existing test cases like you used to do in Test View in VS2010.

b) VS2012's replacement feature for test lists appears to be the 'Playlist'. Commands available to create and manage playlists are available in VS2012's Test Explorer window.

c) There is apparently a tool available to convert VS2010 test lists to VS2012 playlists. See more info in http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/117/Feedback/Details/40328-add-support-for-playlists-for-visual-studio-2012-update-2 .

Hope that helps.

Hi Kurt,

Test Lists are deprecated in VS 2012, see the MSDN article for VS 2012 here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/hh507838.aspx

Regards!

I would be happy to see a feature implemented to have access to legacy test lists Test Studio tests in VS 2012 somehow.

Thanks,
Kurt
